It’s difficult to draw a hard line here. I think for me personally, I don’t mind spending some extra money on in game items every now and then. If it’s a game I like, I have no problem with supporting the developers. Game prices have been relatively stagnant for a long time, so they’ve gotta make money somehow.

Amen to that. I’m fine shuffling things between my external HDD and the SSD depending on what I’m playing for now. But in the longer-term it’s gonna get annoying to constantly micro-manage storage to this degree. And I don’t even usually play a whole bunch of games at once, so it would be a lot worse for other folks.
