Ugh. That’s brutal. Hope you’re able to stay safe.

Ha! Yeah, I guess. Way to find a silver lining!!

Oh yeah, I remember that well. That was actually especially egregious because they never really said how long any of that stuff would be exclusive and then one day like 2-3 years later they were just like “here’s your stuff XBox players.” That sucked.

Even as a PS owner for three console generations now: console exclusivity sucks.

I have some nostalgia for the genre, being a fan of a lot of William Gibson’s writing and having played the TTRPG back in the day, so I’ll definitely play it eventually. But I’m in no rush. I plan to wait for the PS5 version and for most of the bugs have been ironed-out, at the very least. I’ve got lots of good games

I feel your frustration, but Demon’s Souls is worth the wait, IMO. I’ve been having a blast with it and am seriously contemplating a NG+ run, which I’ve never done before. Anyway, hope you manage to get your hand on a console soon...

More Demon’s Souls most likely. Getting close to finishing my first run as a mage, but due to a couple of bad decisions with boss souls and some bad luck on drops (seriously, having the final upgrade material for my weapon only drop randomly is some bullshit) I’m already thinking about NG+. That’s not something I’ve

I cannot imagine going that long without a vacation. I’d be an absolute nightmare to be around and doubt I’d be terribly productive by late spring/early summer, let alone fall. I usually take a week in February or March to get some sun and it’s a game-changer. The big problem I have is that while I can technically

Ah okay. My memory of all this stuff is very vague, so I only seem to recall bits & pieces.

Not until I played BOTW did I realize what a big deal the original Legend of Zelda was to me as a kid. I didn’t really play another Zelda game in between the two. I think I got my NES in 1988 or 89, so I was a bit late to the party, but I remember being just completely entranced by the game. And that title theme is

Wasn’t there also one where the guy was kinda calling out the names of the various enemies as if he was afraid of them? I just remember a guy yelling “Peahats!!” and sort of cowering, like even the mention of them was freaking him out. Am I crazy? Could’ve been an ad for the sequel, too...

It was very much a learned thing for me. I remember playing Zaxxon on a neighbour’s ColecoVision system as a kid (yes, I am actually that old) and finding it incredibly difficult because of the inverted Y-axis. But I think during university I played Quake II (maybe?) on my PC and a buddy just told me “you gotta invert

It’s difficult to draw a hard line here. I think for me personally, I don’t mind spending some extra money on in game items every now and then. If it’s a game I like, I have no problem with supporting the developers. Game prices have been relatively stagnant for a long time, so they’ve gotta make money somehow.

Another useful tip: don’t play a service game.

Right, okay. Yes, that seems like it would be very bad! I thought I had it tough riding my bike to work in temperatures hovering around freezing, but I don’t have to worry about any kind of home maintenance due to cold weather!

As someone who doesn’t live in a particularly cold place, maybe I’m just ignorant, but what are “hot roof issues”?

Amen to that. I’m fine shuffling things between my external HDD and the SSD depending on what I’m playing for now. But in the longer-term it’s gonna get annoying to constantly micro-manage storage to this degree. And I don’t even usually play a whole bunch of games at once, so it would be a lot worse for other folks.

OT: Man, Demon’s Souls is good. I haven’t been this hooked on a game for a while. I think about it a lot. I’ve made a couple of stupid decisions on how to spend boss souls, but other than that my run is going pretty well. Looking forward to trying some different builds already...

97 is an impressive age, but I’m sure that doesn’t make it any easier for the family. My condolences.

I think I still have most of my systems somewhere. Our NES was either claimed by my sister or was no longer working and got tossed. I sold my PS3 with all my games around the time I bought a PS4 Pro. At the time I hadn’t touched it in over a year and the last game I thought I might play on it got a PS4 release (Dark
