I still love a good jellied salad - my favourite is lime jello with shredded carrots. But my mom used to make others with celery, radishes and other vegetables. Yum

Oh dear god.

On that tray in the bottom right I think the squares ones are saltines, which are both saltier and blander than Ritz crackers.

For real. Like, I get the novelty aspect (or, aspic-t, if you will! OK I’m sorry for that, I’ll see myself out after this), but no one should take it so far as to make food unappetizing. It’s like the whole artificially-colored rainbow food trend that's popular now— it’s not appealing at ALL! I feel like all I’d taste

Are those breaded potato balls? Would eat. It’s obviously supper time because I would seriously try everything here. This makes me want to organize a tupperware/cocktail party where you have to bring a weird Americana mid-century concoction. I’m sure people are having those all over but I’ve never been invited to one!

No pastry bags required for the world’s shittiest cheese!

I think it’s probably a soft cheese mixture piped onto crackers. Pretty fancy but maybe not worth the effort. I’m terrible with a pastry bag, though, so it might be easier for someone with more skill.

I think that’s easy cheese, that would be a lot of butter!

I’m pretty sure that’s some variation of mayonnaise

If you’ve never had a grilled date stuffed with cheese, you have an unexpected treat coming.

Nothing will ever convince me that mid-century American cuisine is not the LITERAL WORST food category of all time.

My mother still has a giant plastic mushroom for sticking cocktail sticks in it.

Who cares, it’ll all taste like mayonnaise and American cheese and canned tuna, anyway.

I have to refuse to star this on account of it being a giant insult to The Doctor but I want you to know I still appreciate the reference. If you’d used this image on the other hand

I love this but also hate the idea of the poor TARDIS being used for such purposes. I guess it could be A TARDIS - since it seems a lot of the Time Lords were kind of jerks - just not THE DOCTOR’S TARDIS.

There are fewer Bernie supporters claiming they won’t support Hillary than there were Hillary supporters claiming they wouldn’t support Obama at this time in ‘08. These primary wars are no different than the ones in the past, complete with the same worry and handwringing. The vast majority of Democratic voters are

First it was “He won’t run” Then it was “He will be laughed off the stage from his wall and Muslim ban comments” Then it was “Well he won’t win a primary” Then it was “The Establishment will get its act in gear and he won’t get nominated”. Well now he officially has the magic number. Baring a coup that could break the

I think they mythologize the founding fathers too much to have come from the same century.

This reminds me of the time a conservative campus newspaper at my college published a nasty review of a liberal speaker before the speech had been given. In retrospect, time travel makes a lot of sense in both cases. Do you think Orrin Hatch is so conservative because he was actually raised in the 19th century, and
