Thank you for putting “married off” in quotes. It’s such a revulsive phrase given what it really means.

The way that cat is looking at it...

LOL

Was “...scissors” followed up with [giggles uncontrollably]?

We can’t all be Ivanka. : (

It’s the same thing with trump. Idk how a guy whose face looks like 100 miles of irradiated rough country road can judge ANYONE.

Ladies, don’t you wish Trump wanted to fuck you?

The terrible conundrum at the heart of situations like yours (I’m so sorry - that’s so awful) is that adults have a right to fuck up their lives. Unless your mom is literally incapable of managing basic care for herself (I’m talking feeding and clothing and finding shelter, not living well in a civilized society), a

Folks. There isn’t enough funding going into mental health. There aren’t enough facilities/beds, and in the rare instances where there are, it’s difficult to keep staffing up so that those beds can be filled. Mental health workers are often overworked and underpaid, and in those spaces where more is needed (outreach

Agreed. There was an organization dedicated to helping them but it looks like it shut down due to lack of funds.

So there is some context required, the girls were kidnapped about 5 months before the presidential election and President Goodluck Jonathan (who frankly brought very little good luck to the country) decided that the kidnapping was an effort to discredit him and his presidency. So they did nothing for almost 5 days,

1 Girl was found, two years later. My god. And the uncle was more saying, to me, “We will take of her; now leave” and not, to me, belittling her trauma/captivity.

It made some news when the US had to pull back on its commitment to arm and train the Nigerian forces battling Boko Haram... because those forces were implicated in human rights violations. There was also a period where the Nigerian army refused to fight BH because they hadn’t been given proper equipment and supplies,

I hate how (as far as I know) we don’t get any news in the US about how your prior president botched this whole thing. We just got (as far as I know) loads and loads of “Bring Back Our Girls” rhetoric without any sort of deeper dive into the government’s mishandling of this entire situation.

Not even. Those fingers are much too large to be the Donald’s.

Apparently her father died while she was in captivity, too. I’m so glad she’s been found alive, but I don’t even know if traumatized is even a strong enough word to describe what she likely is at this point. Those poor girls.

I think, perhaps, he meant as in being physically fine. He did say she was traumatized...

This disaster so embodies everything that drives me crazy about my country, Nigeria. The complete ineptitude of our prior president cannot be overstated in how this has been so botched.

I’m not ordinarily one of those crazy jingoistic “RESPECT MAH FLAG” types, but I feel really bad for that flag.

Let’s also note that not groping women is a really low bar to clear. Even if Trump doesn’t grope women, that’s hardly evidence that he treats women like human beings.
