This was my favorite show until they pulled the cliff hanger where Castle disappears on the way to the wedding. That was a major FU to the fans and I have never forgiven the show for it. That said, I still DVR’ed on it, but only saved it until space was needed so I missed a lot of episodes this last season.

I loves Lanie, too!!! I was hoping that she and Javi would end up together.

Yes, I think that is exactly what happened: they couldn’t be in the same room anymore. Even though they got back together in the show(because ratings tanked), they still don’t share many scenes. There’s no other way to interpret this. If you’re keeping your two main actors away from each other, when they have

That’s been the rumor for pretty much the entire show’s run. I just can’t see it being that much of a factor unless things have deteriorated to the point that they can’t be in the same room anymore. Which would explain this season, to be honest. That ‘split’ was the most hackneyed device I’ve seen in a while.

This first time I remember noticing this phenomenon was with Criminal Minds a few years ago when they dumped A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster in the same season. A show with an ensemble cast got rid of 2/3rds of its women in one fell swoop but, miraculously, none of its men. I think after a season they realized they

Alexis was great in the early seasons - it’d be nice to go back to.

I liked her at the beginning. Her relationship with her dad reminded me of my relationship with mine.

Well, that’s just stupid. Beckett is just as much a main character as Castle. The entire show is built around both characters and their banter. That’s like Moonlighting without Maddie Hayes.

The recent ep where they had Javi/Ryan pulling some nonsense over the new man in Lainie’s life makes me think that is what viewers have to look forward to in S9. In which case, I’ll be able to clear some space in my DVR. No thanks to warching 3 adult men act like teenage boys every week.

I have also not watched that show since very early, but this makes no sense to me. When I first saw headlines, I just assumed she was leaving. It happens this far into a series. But the fact that they are throwing her off makes no sense. I can’t imagine how that show could go on without her. The entire show was based

They should just cancel the show already. I quit watching last season when the 100000th unnecessary plot twist to separate Castle and Beckett went down. That shit is draining to watch on repeat.

How disposable do you have to think women are that you can dump female leads from their shows?

To be honest, last season should have been its last once they resolved 3XK and Beckett’s mother’s murder. This season has been aimless at best.

If the show is floundering, it CERTAINLY can’t be because of the uninspired, lazy writing! It must be the fault of the few actors on the show who are not straight white men. Duh.

Even disregarding the romance angle, the show without Beckett/Katic is the dumbest idea ever. Beckett was a far more compelling character and Katic is the better actor.

That was close. A male actor was almost out of a job.

I have a feeling that most of the comments on this article are going to be of the ‘that’s still a thing?’ variety.

My Twitter timeline has been on fire with this news. I find it really weird this is a cost-saving move given that Tamala Jones probably isn’t making main character pay. Something weird has to be going on behind the scenes here. Regardless, to even fathom moving forward with a show built on the Caskett dynamic by

If they aren’t bringing Stana Katnic back they should just cancel the show and be done with it. The banter between her and Fillion was the only reason anybody ever watched the show. The brainiacs who run the network and took over the show seemed to have missed that memo.
