I'm a new poster to Jezebel but I read it avidly. I'm from the UK where we do have racism but I don't believe it's as intense a problem as in the US. I may be being naive but all I can see in these comments is anger, argument and nitpicking. Isn't this the kind of behaviour we're trying to criticise? What's the point

Why should they have to address his race in the storyline? So much of what you say suggests that black people stand out - why?! "Black 007" as you call him might be able to sneak into somewhere that fucking Sean Connery wouldn't. Jeez.

I just feel like these girls needed someone to shake them and tell them that they were getting overexcited! I'm a teacher and I see the influence of certain trends - they go as quickly as they come but unfortunately adolescents are impulsive. I can't help but think that a little grounding in reality might have helped
