I'm a new poster to Jezebel but I read it avidly. I'm from the UK where we do have racism but I don't believe it's as intense a problem as in the US. Why should they have to address his race in the storyline? So much of what you say suggests that black people stand out - why?! "Black 007" as you call him might be able to sneak into somewhere that fucking Sean Connery wouldn't. Jeez.

I just feel like these girls needed someone to shake them and tell them that they were getting overexcited! I'm a teacher and I see the influence of certain trends - they go as quickly as they come but unfortunately adolescents are impulsive. I can't help but think that a little grounding in reality might have helped…
