Next time some idiot/troll brings up the “professional outrage class,” I’m gonna link them to this article. You have to try pretty hard to think a minimalist red and green Christmas cup is “oppressing” your religion.

In the same way this headline generalizes all Christians, I think I can speak for all Christians and say we don’t really care what Starbucks coffee cups look like.

Angry man enters Starbucks with gun, demands that employees wish him a Merry Christmas in early November.

Bullshit like this is proof that Christians are not persecuted - if you can feel victimised by Starbucks cups not being Santa-fied enough, you do not know the meaning of the word “persecution”.

Actually, the Revised ‘Murcan King James reads, “If someone should strike you on the cheek, pull out your heat and bloweth him away.”

They don’t give a shit about what’s happening in the rest of the world, or to anyone else. Like he’s encouraging his fellow Christ-followers to go to Starbucks and order a $5 TO PRANK THEM INTO LOVING JESUS. If that’s not an epitome of white, first-world Christian problems, I don’t know what is.

Hence the moment of being ready to walk out of church over candy canes as Christian iconography (Christ’s blood, the Trinity, Shepherds and other nonsense.)

He asked WWJD and the answer, evidently, was to flash a gun at strangers.

Actually, if they are giving it to the barrista as their name, I look forward to the moment where no one is quite sure whose coffee is whose because they all say “Merry Christmas,” on them.

I grew up down the street from Josh. He was definitely raised in a conservative Christian home, but seemed nice and generally friendly, unlike the hateful and angry adult he has become. It saddens me to see that this is how Christians are being represented to the world. Also, what does it matter if my latte cup has a

I get the joke, but seriously, Canada isn’t exactly innocent in their ongoing treatment of indigenous peoples.

I don’t care for any of those denominations. But they’re all mandated reporters. and I've seen no argument.

You just made me smile super big!! Thank you! I’ll keep on learning, and will definitely keep commenting (but think and reread my comments before posting). This is like my favorite new site, I’ve been commenting daily for over a month. I have met and conversed with some really cool people with the same sense of humor.

@Adah: "While well intentioned, I do wonder if trying to protect people from "triggers" can make those events more shocking and damaging by simply increasing their rarity."

I appreciate trigger warnings. I was gang-raped 35 years ago. I don't sit around and dwell on it. I don't think about it every day, week, or even month.

The firsts rule of The Patriarchy is you do not talk about The Patriarchy. The second rule of The Patriarchy is you DO NOT talk about The Patriarchy. The 3rd rule of The Patriarchy is if someone yells "stop!", goes limp, or taps out, laugh at them and tell them that The Patriarchy doesn't exist and that they are
