Is Simmons a college with a strong feminist foundation? I'd never really heard it included among the prestigious women's colleges, but lately I'm starting to hear it more and more in the backgrounds of writers and academics that I respect.

"I hate when certain feminists claim that I owe this woman (and people like Betty Friedan) my rights. I don't owe Gloria Steinem shit."
The fact that a single school district has failed to enact such a system in any kind of effective way makes me question whether a nation's prison system could.
My ex put on a YouTube video of the "Best of Jesse" once as part of a long-running joke of him trying to get me to watch the show. I was honestly so into him that it was a little awkward. Gotta watch that show!
I didn't notice a significant change from other articles. I think we're pretty hard on our regular writers.
I'm a little skeptical. I've worked in high schools where the focus was on restorative justice—"Oh, you punched this kid in the face? Let's work together to make sure you understand why violence might not be a good way to respond to problems"—and saw it have very little effect. At one school I worked at, bullying…
Yeah, I thought that was actually pretty funny.
This was hysterical. Thanks!
Oh shit. She cheated on you? I'm sorry, guy.
I was like that until I started teaching—a job where I had to be there at 6:30 a.m. every day, no exceptions, and if I showed up later than that I'd be leaving 30 kids standing by my classroom door waiting for class to start. I still like to "sleep in" on weekends, but having to wake up before 6 a.m. on weekdays means…
...Do people really change their pillowcases every night?
I get nervous about that, just because I'm not in super good shape. I'd be so self-conscious doing all that stuff that they do in running fittings that I've heard about—running on treadmills while they watch you, etc.—and I can't imagine that people who work in a Nike store would be judgment-free...
Because lots of homophobic people have an idea that gay culture consists solely of gay guys meeting up with other random gay guys and having NSA sex. Did I have to spell that out? Every time there's any discussion of bathhouses, bathrooms, or apps like Grindr, many people take it as proof that their one-dimensional…
So hard to resist a devil-may-care attitude and a set of jaunty ears.
I'm never sorry when Grindr fails to find its way into the media spotlight. Totally get why some people love it, but it's such an embodiment of homophobic conceptions of what gay culture is that the longer we can delay getting it on their radar, the better.
Really? I didn't graduate from college too long ago, and I use it occasionally. There aren't many alternatives I'm aware of, unless you want to spell out "We talk dirty via text."
It is interesting. It's less interesting when you consider that there are three times as many Black Americans and four times as many Hispanic Americans as Asian-Americans.
That was the most totally entertaining article about cleaning that I think I've ever had the pleasure to read.
...Balto, anyone?
