I hate hate hate it when the writers show that they don't even read each other's work.

I'm sorry you've been in so many situations where men were unable or unwilling to pick up on signals. But you can't claim that your experience is true of every woman. When I yawn and say, "Maybe I'll make it an early night," most guys start stepping toward the door. If I avoid physical contact and offer water when he…
Well-said. If guys can read body language/subtle hints/vague statements when they're in a job interview, they should be able to do the same when they're coming from a potential sex partner.
I gotta say: I wasn't able to read all the way through this, just because your use of asterisk censorship struck me as being so f***ing adorable.
Absolutely on-point. As soon as it gets specific, you end up getting sucked into a 20-minute discussion about how the racist comment was ironic. Somewhere around him listing off all of his non-white friends, you just end up wanting to bang him just to shut him up. Which, come to think of it, might be a strategy.
Yeah, a policy that the writer of this post followed. She wanted to sleep with him until he acted like such an asshole that she didn't want to anymore.
Is that seriously so unbelievable to you? If a guy is a big enough douchebag that you'll send him packing out of your place—not even chill and watch TV, talk about restaurants, platonic whatever—then he's usually a big enough douchebag that he'll get irritated and pissy when you make it clear sex is off the table.
Tiredness and "so, if you're going to be catching the L, you'll want to make a right when you get out of here..." are my go-tos, too.
In a perfect world, you're right. But if the choice is between wasting an hour getting rid of him or making an enemy that could potentially blow future career prospects, most of us will waste the hour.
Oh, please. Being skeptical of a misogynist's motives in hiring women doesn't mean that women can never be fairly hired.
Wow! My comment was not meant to be critical of the women as staffers, but skeptical of the idea that someone who endorses policies that oppress and restrict women could be a progressive hirer of them. I've had misogynistic bosses who behave as I described above; in no way were the female employees they objectified…
I would not have made the same point if his stance on policies that disproportionately affect women were less demeaning. If he endorses laws that devalue women and restrict their ability to be productive members of the workforce, I'm going to consider alternate explanations of seeming progressive hiring of women in…
All I was saying was that, based on his stance on policies for working women and my impression of his personality, I doubted that his hiring practices were based on progressive beliefs about gender equity in the workplace. My skepticism would not apply for other political figures whose work is more in line with gender…
Could it be that the staff of the Style section is more eager to cover stories centered around female figures? I don't imagine relatively minor stories like these coming from a big staff meeting of every section editor, but the writers who propose the pieces being the ones propelling the articles into being. If that's…
It's not so much a fashion section as a lifestyle section: they'll have articles about popular vacation spots and social trends, in addition to stuff on fashion and celebrities.
For real. I recommend those like crazy to parents with middle school kids. Clever, witty, with—as you say—a bomb heroine.
But wait: I'm guessing you won't be able to use students' or parents' names for privacy reasons—won't that negate the value of the documentation?
I have the same question. I've been with five guys in the last year; three of those guys had that problem at least once. None of them are older than 30. I'm sure it can't be that common, and it's definitely starting to make me feel insecure.
... My point was that when the most thoughtful and well-educated people all share the same political beliefs, there's clearly validity to those beliefs.
