I was really expecting this headline to be somewhat click baity, but that is literally what he said.

Potential new member, I believe.

This is certainly crazy and controlling, I will grant you that, and therefore entirely not for me. And maybe it's because I'm becoming desensitized by all the truly horrible sorority/fraternity things that happen, but I didn't think this was too bad. I'm sure most of the girls who are in this sorority expect and

I agree with you, and I think your insights given that you have dealt with eating disorders and work in the advertising industry are very interesting.

I see it the exact same way you do. I am very sensitive to body image and eating disorder issues, and I only recognized this controversy when Jezebel first posted about it. It seemed very clear to me that they were trying to show how ridiculous and futile this exercise was. As I've said in other comments, the whole

Yeah, I feel like the issue is more that hotmessmoves may not translate to a Loft audience like this. I totally get what they were going for here, but I can also see why others are offended.

That's exactly what I got out of it, too. I think the idea was that she didn't need to be doing the exercise she was doing. I thought the taking the scale away bit at the end was significant.

I kind of like the casual dropping it into conversation. I hope this is where we're moving with celebrity comings out.

Thank you. I have not met a single person who enjoyed that movie, and I didn't come close to understanding it*.

As I was reading the list on CNN just now, I just kept saying to myself, "this is just so white".

Unfortunately aging out of the procedure doesn't seem to be too common, though I'm sure the older the girls/women get, the more likely they are to understand free will and perhaps escape the procedure.

I worry about what happens after the epidemic ends, though. Will these same girls still have to get it done at a later time (when they're even older)? Probably. And if they don't get it done ever, they will likely be shunned by their communities.

That is literally less steamy than middle school spin the bottle sessions where you just kind of closed your eyes, lunged forward, and hoped your lips collided at some point.

it would've been so cool to hang out with you here on earth.

But...but "making our fandom deeper" doesn't make sense either!! I guess deeper = bigger?

But what does the diaper comment even mean? I truly don't understand. Is it a misspelling? Is it a new saying? I AM SO OLD.

Won't go into details, but I know someone who did not get paid for services she provided him because she was a fan and I guess he felt like being in his presence was payment enough.

Definitely all our moms. Or at least white moms.

Does this remind anyone else of that scene in the L Word during Dana's funeral? No? I'll see myself out...
