I agree with you. I generally hate when there’s an LGBTQ character who is introduced just to say “hey we have one!” and then they’re not used. But there was no real way to explore this character and not reveal a huge huge plot. Plus, as you mentioned, they did a good job of making her seem sympathetic.

God, I love how they conduct their segment. Several minutes of very blatant bias and “innocent” confusion about this new scary “PC” policy. And then the last two seconds are “the critics say labels are harmless”. And they have the fake expectation that people will actually provide reasoned comments based on that…

And what’s of note is that she only resisted when asked to pull down her pants...which anyone would do in that moment. She hadn’t resisted prior to that point (not that it should matter if she had).

An end result does not justify any illegal search. Statistically if you conduct enough searches, you’re of course going to find something. But just because you find something doesn’t mean it was legal to perform the search. Especially not one so grossly violating as this one.

Definitely seconding the Imagine Me & You suggestion. There are some other fairly cute and happy LGBT* movies. I Can’t Think Straight is slightly more drama-filled, but still happy. I also just recently watched Life Partners and while it’s light on the romance, it’s delightful.
