“....to build a cheap car that would appeal to a larger amount of the population who doesn’t have a ton of cash to spend on a car.”

That’s why the Biden/Democratic infrastructure bill has a big chunk for charging stations. And I think the EU is demanding one plug and one charging standard to end the VHS/Betamax situation and it seems manufacturers are following everywhere.

If EVs are stacking up at dealers the added dealer mark up should go away and the opposite should happen. It’s becoming a competitive market with various brands and sizes and types of EVs.

You shouldn’t put fuel in your ice machine.

This topic does not seem very Jalopniky.

The two worst cars I ever owned were the worst because of horrendous lying dealers who wouldn’t do obviously needed warranty repairs. Mazda years ago (their dealers were so bad that the NPR car guys made jokes about it) and Subaru now. I won’t go into the boring details but three different Subaru dealers including the

I really don’t think Subaru (in 2018) had it all figured out, but the auto LED (on/off/brights) headlights on mine are great and also do the Citroen DSish following the steering. The brights thing gets it right every time. You should turn your headlights on in a tunnel anyway.

Sure, but having to carry your laptop with you to get into some event may be inconvenient. A desktop computer may be worse. Bring a 50' extension cord.

I like all the stuff but the motorized hatch is much slower and more complex than a simple hatch popper button. All it does is save me from having to do all the work of closing it, which I never felt I suffered that much from having to do myself.

Hope no little kids run behind your car when you are backing out of the driveway. I find the cross traffic beeper is pretty useful when backing out of parking lot spaces. I can’t see back there but the car can.

What kind hijacks the wheel? The Subaru version is fairly subtle.

I think the mirror mounted turn signal repeaters have taken the place of the Euro side light. It was interesting how some European or Japanese imports in the US put some brand symbol in that hole instead of a light, made a different fender die without the hole, or just left the light working. Some brands variously did

Cars don’t have lighters like in the Good Old Days when my Lincoln had four ashtrays and four lighters. I wonder if the youts today know why there is that odd round electrical outlet.

It’s so much better to get into a cold car and sit on a cold seat and put your hands on a cold steering wheel. And if it’s snowing lowering the window occasionally to clear the unheated outside mirror. Then decide when the coolant is maybe hot enough to provide some heat and turn the heat level all the way up and the

Leather smells good though. And is better for sliding in and out.

The only thing I haven’t used on the Sube is Xmode because I haven’t slogged through any quicksand or anything. A lot of what cars today have like ABS, traction control and stability control aren’t obviously on but come into play in certain situations. Adaptive cruise control is great. All the other interventions work

I recommend not getting a sunroof then.

Or the Rogue Sport, otherwise known as the Qashqai.

There are almost always announcements at touchdown about all those things. I’ve never seen much disregard of those announcemnts. But when the plane is stopped at the gate usually a lot of people get up and take their luggage out of the bin and then stand there for ten minutes.

Ewww. Anyway if you don’t fit reasonably into one of the cheap seats there are usually wider seats in one or two other classes you should choose. Same thing goes if you are 6'8". Someone else is spending 75% of their income on a tiny apartment, someone else got cancer, someone paid double for a last minute plane
