Depending on the car and its radio layout, you can upgrade to a Carplay/Android auto unit for not a ton of money. I am cheap, so I haven’t done it yet. But I am eventually going to get one for my ‘07 Highlander.

It really depends on how many owners. Thanks to initial cost of entry, I’d imagine initial buyers actually didn’t thrash them badly - or at a minimum were more likely to do so in a controlled fashion. It’s the second and third owners that will really rag ‘em out.

I’m not buying a complex and unreliable vehicle from a seller that couldn’t do even the simplest thing:  TPMS sensors are all of $100. What else hasn’t been worked on?  This is absolutely a car to stay away from when the owner says it’s all ok “except for this one light”. ND.

Someone in San Diego is doing a brisk business in selling cut-vinyl decals that read “We bought this before we knew he was crazy”.  I’ve seen them on half a dozen cars, at least.

It’s almost like we can’t trust a thing this sack of crap says anymore, or ever
