I have a feeling that Kristen Stewart has been privately out about her bisexuality for awhile. I’m guessing/hoping she had Kristen’s blessing to speak about her relationship? Assuming that’s the case, I’m glad Kristen has a supportive mom.

One can be intelligent, royal, and suffer from major foot-in-mouth disease (I’m looking at you, Prince Phillip, and you, Henrik of Denmark). I can’t say Carl Gustaf is a personal favorite of mine, but I wouldn’t call him dumb either. His upbringing, although privileged, seems rather stunted and sad. But, to each their…
I can’t say I’d wear a 1920s wedding gown myself (the style would NOT suit my figure), but I do appreciate how unique and chic gowns from that era look. Fashions from that era looked wonderful on Astrid.
Me too! It was small and looked like it had been left out in a rainstorm.
Good question. Mabel seems to have kind of an unusual sense of style. Sometimes her funkiness looks really fun and innovative, but sometimes it makes you wonder if there was a fire in her house when she got dressed.
I agree. Her dress was incredible, one of the best in my opinion. I’m not big on the Cameo Tiara as the go-to Swedish wedding tiara, but I think Victoria wears it best.
Yep. I’m all for making that an international tradition.
The King is known to have severe dyslexia, and his children have issues with it to an extent as well. I wouldn’t say that makes him dumb, though. There’s a difference between being “dumb” and having a learning disability. Carl Philip is a graphic designer and has worked as one for several years, which takes a great…
Also, Astrid of Sweden had *two* wedding dresses for two ceremonies in 1926 - a civil ceremony in Sweden, and a religious wedding in Belgium. She wore the same veil for both, but wore it in completely different ways for each wedding.
It’s Maxima of the Netherlands all the way for me. I want to pet her dress, it’s so lovely. It’s the perfect look for a winter wedding too. It can be tough to dress for those without looking crazy bundled up.
I loved Mary’s whole ensemble. I do wish she’d have worn her veil to make her tiara show a bit better, and her flowers look kind of like she picked whatever she could find in the backyard, but the dress was absolutely lovely.
Nope - it’s Orlando Bloom.
Let’s talk a bit about Sofia’s tiara, which is new (to her)! Most of the Swedish royal women have a tiara they either own outright, or that they sort of have dibs on in the family collection. It sounds as though Sofia’s will be her own. It looks to me like it might date back from the 1910s or 1920s, and it has…
I agree with you on every dress except Silvia’s. Hers was so, so plain, and some elements of the ensemble seemed kind of thrown together. Her hair looked kind of like sloppy, her tiara was on crooked, and the dress wrinkled horribly. Silvia has always looked tip-top since that time, so maybe it was just a really off…
Mabel’s was a tad strange. It looks great from the drawing, and I agree the cut was a great one for her, but the graduated bows are a bit much for me.
That’s a shame that Sofia’s flowers were put together so poorly. I liked the fact that she went with some color, though - it seems like royal brides in the past few years have chosen white flowers with white flowers, and other white flowers to fill out the bouquet. I was overjoyed at finally seeing a little definition.
Yee haw, another OOS reader! *high fives*
They’ve left out tons of others besides Camilla’s dresses, some rather prominent. Astrid of Sweden (first wife of Leopold III of Belgium), Charlotte of Luxembourg (who was a ruling monarch at the time of her wedding!), Josephine-Charlotte of Belgium (wife of Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg), Martha of Sweden (wife of…
*gasp* I’d never dread going to work again, even on a Monday!
My first thought is that this woman has done this in the name of some type of academic research. That doesn’t necessarily mean doing this was okay, but I could see that there are probably some very valid conclusions that can be drawn if this is what she’s doing.
