The designer of Billy Porter’s ensemble (Alex Vinash) is the partner of a childhood friend of mine!

The Grindr hookup one really freaked me out. There was another story that year about a woman sleeping in a pick up with a camper top in a national forest that gave me the willies too (I don’t think it was a finalist), and another of someone backwoods camping in a hammock.

When preparing for Edward VII’s coronation, it was discovered that no one quite knew all of the details. This was in 1902, and last coronation (of Edward’s mother Victoria in 1838) was so long ago that few remembered it. Victoria’s cousin, Augusta of Cambridge, was one of the few attendees who was still alive, so

I am so pumped about The Alienist! I love the bejeezus out of Daniel Bruhl, and given the similar time period I hope this will that gaping hole in my soul left after The Knick was cancelled.

Anne chose for her children not to have titles. It wouldn’t have been automatic, but the option was available to her. Prince Edward’s two children are technically a princess and a prince, but they are styled as children of an earl at Edward’s and Sophie’s request as he is the Earl of Wessex.

Camilla actually is the Princess of Wales. She wasn’t denied the title and could use it if she chose. But she chose to be styled as Duchess of Cornwall given the stickiness of her affair with Charles before and during his first marriage. (A very wise move, I think.)

I agree regarding Chepe and Pacho needing more screen time. I’d have cut down on Miguel’s story and probably eliminated Maria entirely, because in the end she didn’t serve much of a purpose. I’d have gladly taken more Pacho and Chepe in place of her.

Navegante and Jorge had most of almost all of their interactions alone together in a car. It makes me wonder if that was planned from the start, or if an initial scene went so well between the two that more were written.

I’ll have to look for Juan Sebastián Calero in other roles. Navegante has been by far my most favorite character, and I’m sad to see him go. Calero clearly had a lot of fun playing him.

...and more Navegante.

I would gladly watch season comprised only of Navegante and Jorge riding around in a car, all the while Navegante drawling on about bizarre/horrifying shit while Jorge stares at him in barely concealed horror. It’s like a demented buddy comedy whenever they’re together.

That’s true. We were sort of spoiled in previous seasons with several stronger female characters - Valeria, Hermilda, Tata, and Judy - that the absence of such characters was noticeable.

Yeah, I thought that was one of this season’s only downfalls - the only interesting female character was Gerda Salazar, and her part was really small.

I didn’t realize how much I’d missed Javi’s chase scenes until this episode. They must be a complete bitch to scout, block, rehearse, and shoot, but they’re so fun to watch.

“He was a tiger.”

Is it weird that I want a Narcos spinoff focusing on Navegante? He’s such a creepy, darkly comic character. The actor definitely made the most out of a rather small role.

Right? He SHOULD be dead by now, given that he was one of Escobar’s heavies and was an informant to boot. I’m so glad he’s still around.

You too? I love that dude!

YES. The fashion industry seems to have adopted, “Ah, you aren’t a size 4. Therefore you must adore diaphanous, flowy tops. We’ll make them all that way” as a home truth. Old Navy has one fitted tshirt that looks nice on me, and it comes in about three colors.

I’ve always thought Liev resembles a Rottweiler. That’s not a diss on him, as I think Rottweilers are gorgeous dogs. But the shape of his head and sturdy features just remind me of a Rottweiler.
