I hope we can now move on from ‘The next one will prove the Snyderverse was successful’. There are no more next ones.

That’s because it looks incredibly dumb. You know you’re in trouble if a guest appearance by Batman can’t even save you.
Dear movie companies, when you have a star that’s a terrible human being, no amount of “cover” or distractions from nostalgia can prevent the gen audience from reacting.
Got to love that Batman is bigger than the Flash on the poster.
Damn. I know it’s a kid show and I’m 40-something, but Prodigy was really starting to grow on me.
Especially when it seems like Trek is the only thing anyone watches on Paramount+ anyway.
It feels really weird to cut out a Trek show when Trek is getting a revival of sorts.
Yeah, so keep buying physical media of shows you like as long as you can. It might not always save the shows from cancellation... but it’ll keep them from being just a memory.
I would also make the case that TOS often argued humanity couldn’t exist in any kind of paradise without losing what makes us fundamentally human. So ‘utopia’ can both be subjective, and perhaps somewhat unrealistic.
I like that Star Trek seems to be leaning into the idea that “Utopia” is something you continually strive for, not a strictly defined final destination and what really qualifies you as Utopian is pursuing that ideal. It acknowledges that the specifics of Roddenberry’s Utopian vision were off while staying loyal to the…
Ohhhh, I was not paying attention during that S2 episode of Disco, I thought everything Pike saw was in the future so Talos IV or whatever hadn’t happened yet. That totally clears up my timeline confusion with the Enterprise interior and the doctor from back then. I just really did not enjoy the first two seasons of…
‘The Cage’ takes place several years before these events, so no, Una does not have plot armor. (Except for the fact of her appearing in the trailer for season 2)
Nor is she still on the Enterprise during the events of ‘The Menagerie’.
[Pike was briefly reunited with Vena during his time on Discovery]
I really enjoyed this episode. I know there’s often been a diversion of thought among the fandom as to whether or not the Federation is a utopia, or one that’s still in aspiring to that ideal. And I’ve always leaned far more toward the latter for a number of reasons. Also, I think using this topic to demonstrate how…
Badaki was great in this turn, but it felt like we missed a scene between her telling Una that she wanted to use this case to nail the Federation and then using Una’s story to set up the asylum defense.
Also interesting in that we’re leading off with two Pike-light episodes, a testament to the depth of the cast.
Now…
While I knew the constraints of canon, which long time fans of the franchise are burdened with knowing, this episode did a great job of making it feel like Una could lose. If you think about any of the previous courtroom episodes logically, none of them could end with a main character getting imprisoned, so the…
Right I suspect both Flash and Elemental will blowup the streaming. People who refused to watch either in theaters will be curious about it when it hits their subscription.
The new voice actors have an extremely strong background in game voice acting. Of course, the grand champion of them all is LaMarr, who is the only one of these actors to get shot in the face by John Travolta and have OVER 500 previous voice gigs - impressive!
Funny thing about Katsulas was how, after he started acting…
Is it even B5 if you don’t have to make allowances for extremely limited budgets?
They brought Zathras back, but not Zathras? I bet this is why Zathras is shunned in every time zone. Zathras knows.
I remain astounded that we’ve lost more Babylon 5 actors than we have for all the Star Treks combined.
