While I agree with everything you said, I have one thing to add.

It really just goes to show the star power that Keaton has.
I think WB went straight-to-Flashpoint for three reasons:
And ALL of those things are baffling, no?
Does it really baffle you though? Everything DC did before James Gunn seems to be so confusingly rushed. Shoving Wonder Woman in the Batman V Superman story that also included the Doomsday storyline in Superman’s SECOND appearence. The whole universe felt like the fast forward button was stuck.
I am legitimately mad how much I dig this trailer. Like, “Goddamnit, Max Landis’s Dirk Gently Show Is Actually Really Good” levels of mad.
I’m not sure how I feel about Legacy, but I know Paramount will be kicking themselves if they choose Starfleet academy over it. That show already seems like a stinker just from the premise. And if they make is a soft continuation of Discovery, forget about it.
Legacy will happen. I don’t see any way it doesn’t at this point. The ratings are there, the creator interest seems to be there. Paramount seems to be moving pieces around to make an opening for another series. But I imagine we’ve got a wait while details are hashed out.
Also something I found curious.
Picard season 3…
Starfleet didn’t want fleet formation. The changlings that infiltrated the highest ranks of Starfleet did! It’s right there
I would argue that Janeway is his friend as well.
I understood it to be a younger Q than the season 2 Q. Millions of years may have passed for him between his appearance in S3 and subsequent appearance is S2.
Fleet Formation: It’s my head canon that a changeling Admiral made it happen. Because it’s ridiculously stupid otherwise.
There are still likely rogue changelings since the showed at least one being captured near the end. I assume some got away.
Honest guess on Fleet Formation: over the decades Starfleet saw repeat situations where only a few officers were available to operate a ship, sometimes a ship otherwise occupied by hostiles. Kirk’s crew taking the stolen Enterprise to Genesis was unsanctioned but they learned from it. So over time they made it more…
When will Starfleet come to their senses and realize that well lit bridges, with carpet, are the way to go?
Yeah, Worf mentions that some information came from “a close friend” who is a “man of honor.” So, we know that’s likely Odo.
Worf saying lets make this a threesome and Riker replying Do you hear yourself talk was a good laugh.
I feel like if they get Star Trek: Legacy (proposed show following the crew of the now 1701-G) made, there’s a good opportunity to bring in Janeway and other Voyager alumni, since Seven is now the captain and she’d have a much more personal connection to them.
I imagine you can’t have the Borg’s greatest nemesis in Janeway show up, that’d overshadow Picard’s arc.
Worf: “I’ll make it a threesome.”
