I’m a fan of Cavill, even if his movies weren’t good. But as bummed as I am that he didn’t get a chance to play Supes in an uplifting movie, I’m cautiously excited that we may actually be getting a good Superman movie in the near-ish future.

The hero aged fairly well; the actual nation his ideals were supposedly modeled after did not.

I tried giving Lost in Space a chance, but couldn’t even get through the first episode with the way the writers kept stacking evermore ridiculous amounts of drama on top of each other. The daughter in the family is trapped underwater by unnaturally fast-freezing ice (water actually freezes pretty slowly even in deep

I hated the first two seasons of Picard along with most rational people. Season 3 is actually pretty good and that snippet makes a lot more sense in context. I’d recommend binging the whole thing when it’s done next week if you have even a passing interest.

It’s almost as crazy as some of the swings season 2 took towards the end, but much better executed. The clues and plot points were layered in carefully from the first episode.

The streamers have put out a ton of 100% new content over the past few years.

I mean, they could just continue Stargate Universe and I would be happy.  Took em this long to get across the expanse.

The Stargate is a perfect plot device. Dial a number, step through. Now you are on a new planet that can be any biome, any races/aliens, and any plot. Kind of amazed a decent video game never came out based on it.

I thought it was hilarious to see the D bridge, a set designed to be filmed in 4:3 aspect ratio, in full 2.39:1 glory showing how tightly packed everything is in the middle to allow it to all appear on 80s and 90s TV screens. Tiny cluster of chairs in the middle of the screen flanked by massive carpeted ramps to fill

The changelings were kind of a suicide cult. According to Vadic, they all accepted the costs of her “evolution”—which included greater mortality and vulnerability in exchange for being better infiltrators to take down the Federation.

They used Changelings because they’re a part of Star Trek lore...but yeah, they didn’t use them well.

Was I glad to see the characters on the bridge of the Enterprise D again? Of course. Was having some actual proper lighting so I could see what was happening part of it? Sure.

I assume they’ll have to run everyone through the Geordi-fied transporters again to de-Borg everyone. I’m hoping a copy of Shaw is still in the transporter buffers and comes out ready to kick some ass at the end.

I could see it going either way. He had his goodbye and even the small redemption moment in finally referring to Seven with her preferred name, but this show could easily reverse it (especially with all the pushing for Star Trek Legacy).

It could simply be that they didn’t think the fandom would like him.  Which, if that’s the case, is an AMAZING misread of what the fandom wants out of Trek.

Telling people what they want to hear is infinitely easier than doing what’s good for them and have them like it.

laughing to myself seeing people focus on the Rebels part and having the Heir to the Empire part go over their head. I can’t wait for this to come out.
