Jerry: Father, I wanted to talk to you about Dr. Watley. I have a suspicion that he's converted to Judaism purely for the jokes.
Father: And this offends you as a Jewish person?
Jerry: No, it offends me as a comedian!

Yes, the scene where he was on the phone with Olivia and she kept repeating, "People don't change, monsters stay monsters," over and over again, you could see in his face that it was she was stabbing him with a knife and he was hearing it as being about himself.

Petra out!

Yeah, I don't think she's meant to be a Hemingway or anything. One of the early conflicts was that she wanted to write romance novels and her advisor thought the whole genre was garbage. And, he's not totally wrong about that. The standard for good writing in romance novels is not quite the same as it is for other

I'm continuously impressed by this show and how meticulously it's written. The pacing is impeccable, nothing ever feels like it's stale or dragging and yet they still manage to have season-long story arcs.

Well, no one ever "has to" be killed off. The writers decide that's the story they want to tell.

I thought that's what was going on last week, that they were making her akin to Ann in Arrested Development, but after this week I think it's something more than that. He forgot-and-remembered her way too many times. No idea what they're setting up, though.

Why do we think he was pining after her before Michael's death? It's actually not that uncommon for feelings to develop between people who shared a deceased mutual loved one, it doesn't mean they were "waiting for a crack at her" since Day 1. I'm also not sure how it would make the difference between Michael's death

It's predestination paradox, baby. Remember how Nate originally found the Legends by noticing all the historic artifacts with images of them and stories of their deeds? In this episode, Mick is the one who teaches Washington about guerilla warfare which the continental army really did use. Even though the Mick statue

Also, Nate came off like a really slimy douche in this episode which was not a read I'd gotten on him before. It felt a little like he was trying to pull one over on her with his description of hookup culture, because let's face it, everyone is not "chill" about it. Hookup culture is full of drama and game-playing and

Here here! Legends is the campiest of all the superflarrowverse shows and that's why it's my favorite. Comics are supposed to be a little campy!

I don't see it all that different from Supergirl being essentially invincible. Every now and then they take her to a red-star planet or bring some kryptonite into the mix so that there's some drama. The Legends on the Waverider are essentially invincible so every now and then they take the Waverider offline or strand

TBH I spend every episode of Supergirl futilely screaming, "USE YOUR HEAT VISION! LASER HIM WITH YOUR EYES!!! LASERRRR HIMMMM!!!!!" at the TV in frustration.

She's basically the Kenny of the Superflarrowverse.

I think that made it more powerful. I cried with Jane when she got the news, I hadn't read any spoilers and was completely caught off guard. I can't remember the last time I was so moved by a TV character's death and I think the sudden/meaningless nature of his death is a big part of why it was so moving…because in

I also always felt like most of Raf's feelings for Jane were a combination of displaced affection for his child that she was carrying and a slightly gross fascination with boning a virgin.

Oh, I don't mean Michael is coming back :( I just don't think they're going to put her with Raf after all this time. Michael's death will define Jane in a lot of ways, being a young widow is as much her story as being a pregnant virgin was. My faith in the writers is that they killed off Michael to give Jane her

I have more faith in the writers than that. For most shows I'm sure that's what would be coming, but JTV writers play with tropes and subvert them, rather than fall into them.

Looking back I realize the whole episode was foreshadowing it coming, but it caught me completely by surprise. Gina's acting when she got the call was heartwrenching and had me sobbing along with her. This show is a real work of art.
