No one here in my Oklahoma community takes a tornado warning seriously until one actually goes through town. Then for the next year everyone is on high alert every time with every alert and when nothing happens they go back to not caring.
Same. Over dramatic delivery? Probably, yeah. Are lots of people going to die? Probably, yeah. Could some of those deaths have been prevented if they’d evacuated, and had the opportunity to evacuate? Probably, yeah.
Well, we wish you luck. And while Fox News won’t cover your funeral, we will make sure it covers your cat’s funeral. Cuz none of this is his fault!
I am team get-the-fuck-out but his statements are pretty insensitive to people who straight up don’t have the means to leave (money for gas, are homebound due to illness or age, etc).
Am I missing something? These folks do need to evacuate. They could die like thousands before them if they don’t. What context am I not getting? We don’t have hurricanes in Atlanta.
