This was NOWHERE NEAR the awkwardness of the weird NYC wannabe realtor on Million Dollar Listing New York this week being forced to "freestyle" by Luis (who is actually pretty good at freestyling in Spanish).
You can always find her email or Twitter and give her a heads up rather than just commenting about it... Not that hard, if you're actually trying to help.
Went to Bonnaroo in like 2004 I think. It was pretty awesome and I think this was prior to Molly getting huge so some peeps were on E, many were on acid, but most were on shrooms and lots of pot I think. I enjoyed the community that grew from the tent neighborhoods and the fact that dudes were walking around yelling…
Under-appreciated Johnny Depp movie: The Astronaut's Wife. Bonus points for awesome Charlize action!
We lefties are more likely to die from accidents caused by right-handed tools/utensils, so we're livin' on the edge... That's probably it.
It doesn't have to be visibly physically threatening to be unwanted. Getting hit on by cute/friendly-looking guys does not make it any less annoying to deal with if you don't like getting hit on by strangers.
Learn to understand accents. It's really not that hard and you'll look a lot less of a dumbass (the audio was not that bad, I understood everything she and everyone else said).
I meant more specifically in the "Disney dichotomy" style of assigning human traits to animals. Gorillas have long been seen as violent brutes while chimps were seen as fun-loving, friendly, communal. I was just referring to the proven fact that these traits are generally true for the other species - chimps are…
I think/wonder if this is the result of being intelligent enough to have some level of feelings and maybe have some consistent opinions/emotions, unlike a lot of other animals who are pretty much driven entirely by momentary instinct.
I have always known chimps are the real menaces despite the villifying of beautiful and peaceful gorillas, but man is that chilling what you wrote here! :o
I love these commercials so much! I only wish they were for a product I might actually support but I don't really eat any Nabisco things these days. I do watch a lot of TV though and have been really into those commercials since they started.
I love truly genuine celeb do-gooders who do this stuff BEFORE it's an obvious PR stunt. He just seems more genuine in his tweet (compared with, say, Macklemore instagramming text conversations "altruistically").
Thanks for your perspective. I personally assume vegetarian means NO meat including fish which is why I clarify. When I tell people I'm cooking vegetarian it means plants, eggs, dairy and meat-replacement options. Lots of mushrooms LOL. I find it totally weird that anyone would offer you fish if you called yourself…
Thanks for sharing/clarifying your own perspective - I've found it's definitely a journey and has made me see a lot of things very differently! Like going to cocktail events and only being able to eat one of the passed hors d'oeuvres :( I have always loved animals and ceasing eating animal meat has recently felt like…
I like that you say veg/pesc because I cook entirely vegetarian at home but will order fish when eating in nice restaurants (though usually not when venturing out of the Boston area). I generally call myself vegetarian but have had people be like OH YOU MEAN PESCATARIAN when I say I occasionally eat fish. I just don't…
One of the few things I do feel smug about not eating meat is whenever there is a new announcement of horrible contamination or meat recalls. Sure you can get salmonella in produce but it's a lot less likely, especially if you don't buy pre-packaged salad and things like that.
As a fairly recent non-meat eater I never really did it for animal welfare but I gotta say I look at pigs very differently these days. Pretty sure I want one as a pet on my someday-farm and I don't think I could ever send it to slaughter, even if it lived a charmed piggy life up until then.
LOL yeah the average American meat eater is consuming tons of fresh fruits and vegetables I am sure. This all seems very correlation and not causation or whatever. If it wasn't so hard to eat in the majority of restaurants when you don't want to eat animal meat, vegetarians wouldn't have to be so well-read on what…
Gotta admit, a "strawberry" frosted donut from The Dunks is a wonderful thing, artificial flavor and all.
