Well to be fair if you pick a lengthy quote (like 50+ words) it does become harder to later interpret those words to mean something other than what they say. It doesn't mean the piece can't mean something different but his examples of like "a bird can mean freedom and also peace" or whatever make sense. If you get

I think his real argument is about the canvas vs your skin, and that text is never really meant to wrap around curves without being distorted. I can't really argue with the examples he uses but then again this guy comes from a tattoo culture where "text" is beautiful calligraphy so it's not shocking that he doesn't

I totally agree with you. I think it all comes down to being well-designed, placed correctly, and inked by a professional. The examples they give are pretty extreme, and I think the argument of wasting future space with 12" or bigger areas of text is a good one. That said, you do you! :)

And it would also help if she would consider having them laser removed, something I might would even pay to have done for her.

I certainly wouldn't go to an artist that didn't! Most good places are extremely hygienic and might even turn you away if you came in gross. But yeah typically they clean the area and sterilize it with iodine I think. Eww bottom of feet tattoos.

I hope so but that photo makes me suspect otherwise :/

Oh and for what it's worth my three big pieces are from cultural imagery I really like. I love when people recognize the images from the source and ask about them. I also work in an industry that is pretty cool about tattoos (video games). An ex coworker of mine just got a huge 6-hour piece on his arm commemorating

Yeah I have recently discovered that blog and also "Angry Ink" which is another good read. I heart tattoo artists!

Also I recall the interview mentions that she got her "dirty feet" tattooed which if so, ewwww. That can't be good for healing. As someone who has taken really good care of her ink I always wonder about celebs and how much they follow care instructions after getting new pieces done. Like, I bet Rihanna does, but

I recently read a great article about why text tattoos are bad ideas and it seems like Miley's feet tattoos are the perfect example. Super thin lines on curvy bumpy body parts that will totally start rubbing off in like a month because you walk on the soles of your feet.

That was my thought/hope as well, that these are lifted directly from the source!

I think the thing that bothers me the most is the idea of selling these as an option alongside the higher-calorie fries and at an increased cost. If they really cared about people eating (ever so slightly) healthier food they would just make these their new fries.

I like Jessica Alba but feel no sympathy for her over not knowing what she had going for her after working out 8 hours a day to achieve it. Damn girl!

I actually kind of like Scout as a girl's name personally... o_o But yeah one of the first of my couple friends to pop out a kid went with Harper.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet but my fave is AOIFE, a girl's name that is pronounced "Eefa" :)

High five from Emma to Emma! :P Here in the states I was like 18 before meeting another Emma within a year or two of my age. I think there may have been one other Emma in my high school the whole four years I was there.

Boo, I say. Although at least all these little Emmas will be able to find nameplate stuff at Disney World now.
