Every style guide but the AP requires use of the Oxford comma. The AP doesn’t because it is old fashioned and reflects the fact that people used to pay per character. Those style guides trump the Oxford Press, which isn’t a style guide and irrelevant to this conversation.

The funny thing is, there is no one else reading these comments. It is just you and me. I am spending time trying to correct you when I don’t even like you. What a waste of time.

BTW, how do you justify being offended by being called an idiot when you call other people idiots first?

I should point out that EVERY style guide but the AP guide requires the Oxford comma. The AP guide is from a time where every character cost money, hence the omission.

A) Just because there are two options doesn’t mean that both options are equal. In fact, the majority of writers prefer the Oxford comma, for good reason.

>It needs another, non-optional comma to make it four people, IF THAT’S YOUR INTENTION.

Honestly I cannot tell if you are trolling me or actually this slow. In either case, simply explaining it will not work. You are literally too stupid to figure out that there would be two entirely distinct ways of diagramming that sentence. Maybe some more cartoons, more on your level.

Oh my god, it is literally spelled out for you and you don’t get it. Amazing.

Oh right, your appeal to authority is somehow better than my clear example of how the absence of the comma changes the meaning and creates confusion. /s

No, the Oxford comma is not optional. Its omission can easily cause confusion whereas its inclusion never causes confusion. Since confusion is the antithesis of good, clear clear communication, you need to use the comma. There are numerous examples, here is one:

“I say it’s about choosing your battles.”

“I was just surprised by how much of this piece was about the transgressions against Harley as a female character as opposed to it being a bad piece of gameplay.”

Nothing wrong with white men. I am one. However it is easy for white men to ignore or diminish the significance of sexism or racism because they rarely experience them. When a white man begins telling people that speaking up about these issues is bothersome to them, it comes of as extremely uninformed and

Actually in this case that is exactly what you forgot to do. You are literally saying that just because an issue isn’t interesting to you (almost certainly because it doesn’t apply to you), you shouldn’t have to be bothered by people talking about it. “Checking one’s privilege” gets thrown around a lot, but in this

Oh look, someone who thinks their personal disinterest in a subject is something other people need to know about. The irony is that not caring about these issues and trying to ignore them actually contributes to the problem itself. Disinterest is tacit approval of the status quo. Congratulations on your white penis.

So are we just not going to mention the size of her 5head?

Your obvious attempt at trolling seems more like a sad cry for attention from a lonely person.

The problem with these “best of” posts is that they are just votes by regular people, not actual tests of anything. That is why they are hit-and-miss. They are sort of random.
