Yea it’s a weird position to take considering they aren’t even rated in the top three level 2 systems, let alone anything close to level 3.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - companies really need to start reaching out to Jalopnik commenters before creating products. Rheinmetall, what do you actually know about suspension? Clearly the peanut gallery here is full of manufacturing experts and engineers that possess testing data and market knowledge

I’m probably aging myself, but I think of a skinny couple in matching cutoffs driving a 1975 Dodge tradesman with shag carpeting interior that smells lie cigarette smoke, one of those little round smoked plexiglass bubble windows, and (possibly) a mural on the side.

Well, a 10yo and the typical buyer are about the same number of years from wearing diapers.

Lexus RX, doesn’t need service.*

He would also appear to have had his laptop on and open and his tray down. Bet his seat was still reclined too.

More like the Ford Division

Now playing

Hitting the back of a trailer isn’t any better:

Pull the fuse?

how do they test roof strength? Is it anything like how the causes the Aston to roll in Casino Royale? If so that would be cool to see the test happen

Guess who:

It’d be hillarious if the dummy had rubber nuts and a dildo there with the same paint scheme as there is on the head. A blue nut and a pink nut with the stickers and paint on it to see where they collide (teabag on an airbag?) during the collision

Thankfully they were all rated good in the Penile and Testicular Intrusion test, but the dummies used in the truck tests have a smaller target region to ensure accuracy with real-life experiences.

Its another crumple zone. A Jalopnik article showed this a couple weeks back. And I quote “When the Volvo collides back down, the wheels are designed to crush under a certain amount of force, helping to minimize the energy going into the cabin, sort of like a vertical crumple zone.”

better rim crack rather than it thrust into the firewall and crush your feet

Here you go. This was taken at the top of Lookout Mountain.
