@ Random Internet Trek Dork: Eno didn't produce any of the Berlin trilogy.  I think his role was more along the lines of out-of-the-box thinking, cliche avoidance and unusual instrumentation.  Like a management consultant.

I think both Low and Heroes were co-produced by Bowie and Visconti. Lodger too maybe?  I don't think Eno produced any of them.

There is a touch of hysteria in the air.  I think it's a combination of the V&A retrospective, the sophisticated reticence of this album release and maybe it's just time for Bowie to come around again.  Plus the sombre tone of that first song, making everyone feel sad for a day.
