The problem is that was a one time thing. As time passes the players either forget or ignore those kinds of piecemeal punishments.

I mean, a rule book is literally a series of semantics.
“A 15-yard penalty will be called if a runner or a tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players clearly are outside the tackle box”
But then the NFL would have to admit there is a “problem,” so this will never happen
That’s a pretty long reach. The rules on hits to QBs(particularly) are very, very simple. Don’t hit them in the head. Any contact to the head, even if it *may* be incidental, should(and generally does) draw a flag. I’ve seen flags thrown for Brady because a hand that was up trying to bat a ball incidentally hit him in…
The solution to this kind of shit really isn’t that hard. When the NBA got tired of bench clearing brawls they put in a rule that says if a player even leaves the bench area during a fight, BOOM automatic suspension and fine.....The same with the NHL......As a result you hardly ever see bench clearing altercations…
Playing hard nose football does not include launching your fkn self with your helmet into another players head plain and simple no grey area. You are a dam nitwit loser
Well...the ref justified it by saying the ball was out of his hand before he took the hit that was called as roughing the passer. Which I guess I can understand. What I can’t get over is how does a personal foul for roughing the passer offset with something as meaningless as intentional grounding. A personal foul like…
