“No evidence”? He displayed the victim’s driver’s license to family members before the dead men were cold. He was caught in the victim’s car, on which he had switched the license plates.
There was a trial, and he essentially talked his way into a guilty verdict and a death row conviction. The evidence was strong, he essentially confessed in interviews and showed no remorse, and he laughed at the mother of one of his victims in court. Are we supposed to retry cases until we get a not guilty verdict?
Jesus, I’ve never met a convict who won’t use a $5 word where a $1 word will do. And usually incorrectly. Must use Strunk and White’s Death Row edition.
Does he have anything to say about why he and his partner were arrested in the vehicle belonging to one of their victims? Or that his own defense lawyer said that his client is the first he had ever seen talk his way onto death row by admitting guilt and demonstrating zero remorse?
Does he have anything to say about the time he laughed at the mother of one of his victims in court? Was that a part of his strong resolution, or was it an example of the dynamics of subjugation?
Something about that interview compared to the eloquence of this letter makes me really hesitant to think he solely wrote this piece.
Hey this time you actually mentioned the victims. That is a big improvement over previous. It is important to remember why the people you choose to give a voice to are rightfully on death row. You forgot to mention that the scumbag laughed during the mother’s victim impact statement during the penalty phase of his…
Unreadable. He’s trying too hard to sound literate. It distracts me from what he is actually saying. A translated version should have been made available
I you watch the interview from jail, you’ll quickly realize his lawyer wrote this for him.
“After he was sentenced to death, he laughed at the mother of one of the victims during her victim’s impact statement in court.” channel 5
I didn’t read past the response to question 2... see ya on the other side bud
“Is there anything you would like to say to the family of the victims?”
Yeah! Fuck regulations on vehicles. Let’s allow semi-trucks pull 200,000 lb of freight. Let’s allow cars to have 1200 lumen flashlights as headlights. Catalytic converters? Fuck that noise. Emissions requirements? Don’t tell me I can’t pollute the air with whatever quantity of poison I want!
The crime is endangering everyone they share a roadway with.
As someone who yearly makes the trek from Ohio to Ocean City for H2Oi, there are a lot of things I feel compelled to shed light on for the sake of not only clarity, but hopefully some productive thought that might help things going forward.
A lot of those cars are unsafe. And the drivers are fucking idiots.
Do you actually think the type of people that purposefully make their cars unsafe to drive on the road are also smart enough to even understand your advice?
Glad this happened to your friend. Maybe he’ll learn his lesson and not completely ruin his car next time.
