I want something bad to happen to Poppa John. Not like Jared-bad, but just something bad enough where the Board says “You can no longer be the in the commercials. We cannot have your face associated with the pizza.”

Not enough people are going to read the GQ longread on CTE that Drew linked.
Your line about when you worked at KSK had me wanting a moment alone to openly weep.
Between Former Verizon Guy, Chevy Guy, and Jen Garner’s Dad, have we arrived in a golden age for unlikable TV Commercial schlubs?
Worse than that is that fact that almost none of Berman’s catch phrases were his own. The “Rumbling, stumbling, bumbling” was Keith Jackson. His “back, back, back” was an imitation of many former local baseball guys and almost all of the football highlights including “he .. could .. go ..all.. the way” and “the…
Boomer is in status, if not style, the Vin Scully of cable television and of the NFL.
As a “Bostonian” (I live in the burbs and always have), there should never be another movie made about Boston, period. And Marky Mark should do us all a FAV-AH and jump off the Tobin Bridge.
He was the beginning of the end of watchable NFL draft coverage. He would get the pick in his ear 10 seconds before the commissioner would announce it and basically just ruin the surprise.
I felt the exact same way in the 1980's when the NBA kept selecting Larry Bird and John Stockton to the all star team every year in an obvious attempt to market the league’s white players.
Apparently last year’s game was the most American; a mediocre white player was elected as MVP.

You know what, I hope TPSH’s “conspiracy” theory is right because it would mean that the NHL actually did something right — it would be an unqualified and indisputably Good Decision for the NHL to improve the visibility of black players in the game in an effort to sell the game to more people.
Fun fact: the Penguins recently had a celebration for the 25th anniversary of their 91-92 Stanley Cup win. Jaromir Jagr missed it because he had a game that night.
Great fun to watch him get it against ‘Le Flower’, who looked genuinely overmatched/scared to death on both goals. That PPG was a bomb. Good god.
For me, the biggest takeaway from this story by far is HOLY SHIT JAROMIR JAGR IS STILL PLAYING.
John Wall is unlikeable?
I...I like John Wall. He certainly didn’t look scared of whatshisface, which is what I look for when judging a loudmouth.
Did we watch the same clips? Wall dapped up Isaiah Thomas and was leaving the court when Crowder confronted him. Wall definitely shouldn’t have slapped him but after a win, I’m not sure what Crowder was so upset about.
You Know how there’s the “NONONONO.....YES!” shot in basketball? I feel like Dabo’s clock management was the same way, burning precious seconds on the final drive that had me convinced they would only get 3, so of course, they score with one tick left. Just as he drew it up, everyone will say.
