I'm a trades guy too. But my brother got me an issue of Batman RIP (and some Bats trades) for my birthday last year. And it was awesome holding a comic in my hand for the first time in years.

When TCM did The Essentials, Jr. last year, "The Man Who Knew Too Much" was one of the selections. I'd definitely say that or "North By Northwest" is the best intro to Hitchcock.

I saw Schindler's List with my mom when I was 12. But that's because I was 12 when it came out.

I wouldn't say "Borg pre-Queen" and "Borg post-Queen." I'd go with "TNG-Borg" and "Voyager-Borg." Because the Queen was pretty cool in First Contact.
