I call bullshit on NOBODY at the company knowing. Someone at that turd factory knew *exactly* what they were doing.

That’s totally understandable but deniability is also the entire point of dogwhistles. They use code and implication to publicly signal eachother in a way they normally couldn’t.

I have no idea about the people making this game, I think it could easily be a coincidence, but maybe not - they’re dog whistles, indended to be subtle enough so that they can be slipped into everyday life, letting Nazis identify each other or show support without being so obvious as a swastika; they’re designed to be

You’re not wrong in that it feels like a stretch, but that’s very much how these groups build their dog whistles. Their language and the structure of the references to their reprehensible beliefs and the ideological underpinnings thereof is all very carefully structured in such a way that it can be hand-waved as ‘a

Right? I’m Brazilian, not an expert in history or neo-nazism, English is not my first language, and even then, when I first read about this game yesterday, I immediately saw the problem with the name, so it’s hard to believe that the people involved with this didn’t.

Yeah its never just ONE thing, it’s always a combination of factors. Giving the benefit of the doubt—a mistake I always regret—I think the original poster is probably just not familiar with how often nazis and white supremacists like to use code and co-opt signs and such.

It’s not from WW2, it’s a modern day Nazi/skinhead usage. What you’re ignorant of isn’t history but current sociology. You don't need to be a racist to be aware of what the N word means, either.

14 could be considered a reference to “the fourteen words”, another Nazi reference

It was more than just that. “Infestation 88" is 14 characters, infetstation is a common holocaust trope, and their discord is rife with actual nazis

Wow, Squenix is just on the wrong side of literally every issue aren’t they

Arguing with “AI” proponents is like arguing with chatbots. You countered one metaphor with another metaphor, and the damn thing is now having a “you introduced a paradox into its logic circuits” meltdown.

The irony of people on Kotaku whining about the technological advancement of humanity”

Wasting tens of thousands of dollars to build expertise in something people don’t want and don’t need - which is why they aren’t paying you to do it”

Hey fucking bootlicking moron

I’m pretty much the exact opposite. I feel no compulsion to min/max my settings. As long as I can get the game running smoothly most of the time, I’m happy. I also don’t feel any compulsion to Alt+Tab out of games. Once I’m gaming, I’m fully invested. I actually struggle a lot more with movies and TV shows.

Even the blandest human-created art is inherently better than anything made by AI.

Speak up, all I heard was “I’m a terrible artist and undervalue the real work other people do."

I’m imagining a distopia, where all art is AI. There is no human-generated art, so AI has to scrape images from other AI. It gets worse and worse until eventually, all AI generated images are just crabs.

Not only are they willing to put out poor quality art just to save a few pennies, but they won’t even take the ten minutes or so to review the results before posting them. Their stupidity would be hilarious if they weren’t the ones steering the ship.

That’s what shows how these companies view this. If they’ll use AI for this, rather than hire an actual artist who wouldn’t let this shoddy crap slip by, just think of the garbage they’ll generate for bigger projects.
