@chevy2nova: Automotive technology? So SIU is #1 at training mechanics? Because normally, we leave tests like this to actual engineers.

@Blitzschnell: I really wish that people would leave the engineering to the engineers. But apparently, we can't even trust people to do that, lest we end up with disreputable professors from SIU faking tests.

@nataku8_e30: I can get behind that. Every car should be required to come with an in-cab and externally mounted battery disconnect switch. That could prevent any of these problems.

@Tanshanomi: If you can't collect enough data to reproduce the problem without hacking up the wiring harnesses, then where exactly IS the problem? So far, all we've got is that Toyota had some problematic gas pedal assemblies, which have been warrantied and are being fixed. Now, there's rampant speculation that the

@Elhigh: A good reason to get the Superduty would be to enter it in a stock sled pulling class. You could probably run away with the field, at least until someone else got one.

@nataku8_e30: If you have to hack the wiring harness up like this to produce the problem, then I'm not convinced it's really a problem. Just because it's a different solution to mechanical throttle actuation doesn't mean it's automatically worse.

@Engineerman: Can you have libel and defamation against a corporation, or does it have to be an individual.

@Kelan Adachi: I could cut your brake lines too, but that's not a good argument against hydraulic brakes.

@maximum_sarge: That's because in the rest of the world, no one uses HD trucks. If it can't be done with a half-ton, then they go to a commercial truck. It's only in America where we have that fascination with the big, lifted penis extensions with "HD" badges.

@Elhigh: If you've got an Isuzu NPR, what would you need this truck for? The NPR's got way more capacity. I suppose the NPR's not really set up for towing a trailer, but other than that.

@Zeusnemesis: Turbine engines are way simpler than reciprocating piston engines.

I don't get it.

So, "fuckyeahcarburetors" has some great pictures, but they seem to be confused about things that actually contain carburetors.

But it's hydrostatic drive! It's a HYBRID!

@Nurburgring: Well, the Texas race is an oval. If they've done any other tracks for the game, I'd bet on Daytona or Bristol, neither of which are road tracks.

Why would I pay $60 for a copy of GT5 to go around in circles? The whole point of the franchise is to be able to drive interesting cars on interesting tracks. NASCAR tracks and stock cars is pretty much counter to that purpose.

@Elhigh: So those are actual, legit tractor tires on the rear? I can't recall having seen tires like that before, but I guess the tractors I always end up seeing are ones that work on actual farms.

@Electro Gyrocator: Some of the metalwork is great. I really like the lines on the top hood and the curve into the gauge cluster/windscreen part. But that's not the issue here.

@MaWeiTao: I just get the feeling that Chip Foose doesn't really get it. I think if he really loved and was interested in tractors, we'd get something a lot cooler. But instead, all he thinks about is "how can I turn this into a hot rod".
