@leavethegun-takethecannoli: Faster around the Nurburgring than the Carrera GT? There's nothing partial about it. You're just pissy because of the word "hybrid".

Aside from the standard ugly concept car wheels, I'd drive the hell out of it.

@justsomereportingguy: And it's that pretentious "my side of the hobby is more pure than your side of the hobby" attitude that pisses me off. Everyone's got the same claim to being an automotive enthusiast, from the import tuners to the lifted truck guys to the lowriders to the billet rodders to the european

@AustinMiniMan: So I presume you drive your car without wearing a seatbelt, and disable your airbags too?

@Bertone77: The rat rod scene is every bit as pretentious as the billet rod scene, and just as guilty of building trailer queens. The difference is, lots of rat rods have to get trailered because they're so low, the suspension is so bad, or the fab work is so terrible that they have to be trailered.

@mytdawg: One-offs from Foose or one-offs from the JC Whitney catalog?

The intake runners look nice and are well executed, but with such an extreme bend and extensive length, I would imagine they're hurting performance at this point.

@AustinMiniMan: An unsafe vehicle can be dangerous to more than just its driver. If a vehicle (such as the Corvair, maybe), has negligently dangerous handling characteristics, it's a danger to anyone else 0n the road with you. Should they be forced to share the risk from your personal choices?

@Shep_Shepherd: I read the Illustrated Brief History of Time, and it's an absolutely fantastic book. Stephen Hawking is able to make the science surprisingly accessible to people who don't have a PhD in physics.

@Triborough: Does it hurt to be that stupid?

@Murilee Martin: Hey, there's people out there who think that describing something as "Nixonian" is a ringing endorsement.

@tollberg: You're right, you shouldn't give up on a blog because of one bad article. But, if an author is continually writing bad, pseudo-intellectual bullshit to tear down specific subcultures in this car hobby that we all love, I'd quit reading them. speed.sport.life hasn't done it yet, but they're precariously

@NYNJ97SSEi: Cars are dangerous, but that doesn't mean you want to completely ignore safety. If it weren't for government-mandated safety features, you'd see fatalities in some fairly low-speed crashes.

@tollberg: Cars are meant to be whatever the hell their owners want them to be. That's why we have lowriders, lifted trucks, muscle cars, sports cars, and everything else under the sun.

@maximum_sarge: Yeah, women from the north woods of Michigan, not exactly known for being attractive.

@TRAMS_AM: Nope, that'll teach me to think before I post. I meant the late 4th gen Camaro. The corresponding Firebird has that heinous nose and hood scoop, which really wrecks the lines on the front of the car.

@AustinMiniMan: Really? You think the 2nd gen is the best looking Camaro/Firebird? For the Camaro, I've gotta argue that the 1st or 5th gens are the best. As far as Firebirds go though, the 5th gen is ugly as sin.

What about selling a safe car that you think is a deathtrap?

@PHIL: Best handling and fastest American car of the era is like being the skinniest kid at fat camp.
