@Heavern2: For starters, Saab 99, Datsun 510, BMW 2002, Mazda RX-3, Alfa Romeo GTV, Porsche 944, VW GTi 16v. The possibilities are endless. And all better than a garage full of F-bodies.

@Joyryda: Come on man, if you're gonna dream, at least aim your sights a little higher than this.

@Maxichamp: If he were an engineer, he'd probably be collecting something a little more interesting than F-bodies.

@Heavern2: Just because people can spend their money how they like doesn't mean it's not a waste.

@bonestock94: Yeah, the value of his collection really dropped after Cash for Clunkers ended.

Wow, what a colossal waste of time and money. If you're gonna put the effort in to build this big of a car collection, you might as well collect something cool, instead of a bunch of 2nd gen F-bodies.

@TBIburnoutmachine: And also, presuming you have the money, 100dollarman on the Pirate4x4 seller boards regularly builds/sells bobbed 2.5 tons. But you probably knew that already.

@Maymar: If I had the money, I'd buy an early H1, strip everything out of it, install all the HMMWV parts I could find, paint it OD green, and do a duramax swap.

@Motor_Yakuza: Unfortunately, it couldn't win Dakar. Needs AWD, and it doesn't need nearly so much wheel travel.

@TBIburnoutmachine: Yeah, it'd be perfect, unless you'd like to be warm in your truck. But other than that, tough and disposable. Plus, you can run it on anything, so skip the diesel and you don't have to worry about fuel gelling.

@Maymar: I don't even really want an H1. I'd like to get a government surplus HMMWV, but unfortunately Uncle Sam doesn't want to sell them to civilians.

The H2 was just a flash in the pan as an automotive penis extender anyways. They'll go back to that standby old man penis extender-mobile, the Corvette.

@Flathead Smith: Soooo...swap a powerstroke in your old muscle car? If you did, it'd probably run cleaner AND get better mileage too.

So, this is the opening shot in the next round of "Ridiculous truck grille wars".

@DaddyRocket: But hey, look, the Lotus Evora manages to do the hybrid thing AND perform well!

@DaddyRocket: That tradeoff depends on the cost of environmental pollution, the cost of fuel, and the price people will pay for a sporty car. The cost of environmental pollution and fuel are both going up and won't be coming back down, so as long as people will still want to drive a sporty car, the tradeoff will make

@zeeboid: The cars we drool about here are cars that most people can't afford and REALLY don't make economic sense for 99% of consumers. You don't build a successful business the size of GM by selling a product that a tiny fraction of the population can reasonably buy.

@Oh no! It's wojo! Bitch. Moan. Repeat.: Really? Manifest destiny? Sure, it's part of what made our country, but it also gave us Wounded Knee massacre, and every other injustice committed against the North American natives. If that's what Hummer was like, then I think it's best for the world that it's dead.
