It was hard when I first played it, on the N64 version back in 98 when I was 17. But, I recently just played through it again on the 3DS, and (aside from some forgetfulness) it felt easier than it did whenI originally played it.

IMO a person really shouldn't compare any game in the ridge racer series to Gran Turismo. While the are both racing games on is and always will be an arcade racing game, the other more on the sim side.
