You do realize the collective amount of time wasted by people asking questions that are addressed a few lines into the article vastly outweighs the individual time required to RTFA. In fact, it took you personally longer to ask the question and read the answers than it would have to just read the 6 paragraphs and get

FCA (cars) was a never a Giant Pillar of Diesel Technology in the way ze Germans were. So, not a great loss, and not terribly unexpected, given how they need and/or should and/or will need to spend their meager investments on electrification instead.

5th gear

1st Gear/neutral: Not surprised... for high efficiency in cars, it’s gonna be with BEV tech in the long run. Diesel still has a place in long haul trucking. But even in that area, I can see diesels eventually becoming generators designed to run in a specific RPM/load range to ensure emissions compliance.

The future of Diesel is probably going back to where it belongs- Boats, trains and long-haul trucks.

Neutral: What’s diesel future look like?

Maybe read the smaller words after the headline? Some of them contain the answer to your question.

Did you read the details? They mention they’re keeping diesel for commercial vehicles and trucks in the U.S.

I’ll admit to a bit of bias: the one I was around was also a freaking diesel. The only vehicle I ever remember being that noisy&rattle-y was a ‘50 Ford beat-up work truck.

Monoblocks are the best. A lot of BMW wheels are made by BBS, so they don’t really count, do they? But anything monoblock or BBS wins. Hell I have a set of BBS from my old Miata that I can’t let go of.

I’m not advocating spending $600 a month on a brand new G80 lease. Every single Luxury car depreciates. That’s why you buy a 3 year old CPO so that most of the initial depreciation hit is hopefully taken off. It’s important, but if everyone only ever cared about resale then we’d all be only driving a very small subset

Audi ahead of Lexus? Ahahahahahaha.

I am also a law abiding gun owner and I say, fuck the NRA.

You can support the 2nd Amendment without giving the NRA a discount on your services or even belonging to the NRA.

Good for them!

I got news for you man, that piss-ant AR isn’t doing a fucking thing if the government is coming for you. They have armored vehicles and a *LOT* more force available than you do. Thats just a righty masturbation dream you bought into.

Dude, no one wants to take your guns or your rights. We want to take 30 round magazines in military style weapons that are routinely used to slaughter and dismember little children. Nobody wants to take your pistol or hunting rifle. The NRA use to be a group of hunters and gun enthusiast. They no longer are that, they

Don’t forget to smash your Keurig as well.

You do you, seriously, but to the extent you’ve conceded your fear is irrational, it doesn’t really seem like the best basis for public policy decisions.

As for the NRA, one can believe the following things, as I do, without internal self-contradiction:

I’m now making sure that ONLY Enterprise, its subsidiaries, or any company with large enough balls to make a move like this gets my business. I rent cars for/through my company like mad.
