Scarcity is a gameplay mechanic. It is satisfying to acquire a previously out of reach in game item. If everything was free then the players wouldn’t get that sense of accomplishment when they finally grind their way to a lambo or whatever. Forcing players to pay extra fees to get that content when the grind is too

What’s amazing is the difference between Horizon 5 and GT 7, if one of them was going to have overbearing microtransactions that ruin the game I would have expected it to be the one on Gamepass since most of its players didn’t “pay” for it and thus wouldn’t be as stung at the microtransactions since to them it was a

Seems like the partnership is for getting more support regarding Unreal Engine 5 in developing this game. Which given their engine trouble with Cyberpunk, this actually makes a lot of sense.

Probably worth pointing out that CD Project Red owns GOG, so even if it isnt on Steam its most likely not gonna be an EGS exclusive.

lol throw your phone into the ocean if you’re big mad about China, bucko

I mean, I’d be perfectly happy to get a Ciri-focused game that just assumes the ‘she survived and became a Witcher’ ending (ummm... spoilers, I guess). Maybe make the game’s tutorial area her visit to Geralt’s sweet little vinyard at the end of Blood & Wine, so this one starts where that one ‘left off’, so to speak.

Oh shush, Epic are fine and have one of the best game engines in the business.

The thing about tech demos though, any dev can have the world’s greatest water physics, or grass, or trees, or ultra-detailed terrain...

But the moment you plug that into an actual game, you’ve eaten up so much of your computational “budget” that there’s not much more you can do.

I’m reminded of that amazing looking

I hate how this is Bethesda in a nutshell.

Spending this much time on grass creates an imbalance between the fidelity of the grass and the rest of the world, unless you’re willing to spend that much effort on every single asset, but then you’re just creating a tech demo.

I’ve been saying for years that they need to move over from their Gamebryo-based engine over to id Tech. For one, it fucking works.

Cracking AES 256 isn’t something a script kiddie can do either lol.

Look, I’ve been following UE environmental art since UE3.5 came out and this is... fine. But it has a very “I just bought these assets on the marketplace and plopped them into a level at max settings with no LODs” feel. Even if they made them all themselves, they’re still sending the “My First Level” vibe which is not

You’re one of those always believe the rapist kinda dudes, huh?

I mean this is how abuse works, you are completely manipulated and in this case she was raped, physically and emotionally abused again and again. You just can’t give up, you just keep reaching out as best as you can, and hope one day they reach back. She said her parents kept raising concern, and I’m sure as much as

Man, the more I read about this the more frustrating it is.

As a programmer, I’ll tell you right off that it is a BAD IDEA to rely on a OS kill-switch for everything and expect that every application handles it perfectly in all cases.

Alt-F4 sends the SIGINT signal, and it is absolutely possibly for the developers to botch how it’s handled and kill the program in the middle of a write operation. Handling shutdown gracefully is such an elementary part of development it would be pretty bad if they didn’t though. I’m guessing it’s akin (if not the

They still use faxes in most business and official situations - with no one batting an eye, so...

For some strange reason Japanese UX/UI culture is just so outdated and out of sync with basically the entire rest of the world...and they just seem to have absolutely zero problems with it lol.
