Skyfall makes the critical error of assuming that Judi Dench is mortal, when we all know that she's a transcendent being who will live forever.

I mean, total control over the source for all life on earth is pretty high stakes in my book.

I've never gotten the criticism of the utilities plot– a shady multinational owning a nation's freshwater supply is absolutely a menacing threat. Instead of a death ray it's just total control over a resource that millions of people depend on for daily life.

LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUNDS OF THIS HOTEL MADE OUT OF EXPLODING BARRELS BLOWING TO SMITHEREENS MAN WHO COULD'VE SEEN THIS COMING DON'T THEY HAVE BUILDING CODES IN BOLIVIA

I know you're joking, but Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy actually makes a really good movie out of this.

Another reason why Quantum was dope– it's only 107 minutes.

Part of me thinks that's harsh but fair. Another, larger, part remembers how Bond was shown to be a Red Baron-level pilot who's able to skydive into a sinkhole, pull the cord 20 feet above ground, and survive.

As an aside, I just rewatched the Craig Bond movies to prep for Spectre, and I'm now convinced that Quantum of Solace didn't deserve the hate it got. Bond taking themes from Bourne movies wasn't a bad thing, and even with the writers' strike problems, it's still more fun than Skyfall.

Maxillary first molar, left shin, that fleshy bit at the base of the neck, and… someone help me out here, what's the fourth? I can never remember.

ur wrong

I mean, it's kinda understandable that the DNC isn't crazy about him since he's self-identified as a proud Independent for the past 30+ years.

Right? It's kinda disappointing that so many people came to the comments just to make dismissive jerkoff motions and pat themselves on the back for not listening to Bieber, because there are some absolute bangers on here. And yeah, that's probably due to his producers, but these are some really good pop songs and it's

As a Sixers fan, I'm really perversely invested in getting a win before the Warriors get a loss. I realize this is meaningless, but the little things are all I have right now.

Uptown Funk mashes two far superior songs together ('Jungle Love' and 'All Gold Everything') to produce a shlocky turd. It's a fucking Kidz Bop remix that became the #1 song in over a dozen countries. Fuck that song.

He appeared seemingly out of nowhere a couple years ago and has been fucking inescapable ever since, and I'm sick of it. Also, as a straight dude, I've just conceded I'll never understand the 'Cumberbitches' thing.

Not a movie, but Brian Jacques' descriptions of Redwall feasts were the first thing that came to mind when I read the title.

It looks like ESPN's gonna honor everyone's contracts, but I don't know if that means they'll be appearing at the main site or not. Either way, though, the editorial freedom and creativity that made Grantland great isn't gonna exist anymore, and that's such a fucking bummer.

It is deeply unsettling. I can't even explain exactly why, but every time it appears on my TV I get shivers down my spine.

There's a lot of Roald Dahl moments that fit this prompt. Pretty much the entirety of The Witches qualifies– that book fucked me up as a kid.

The replies to the Joanna Newsom review and these comments are two equally awful ends of the pop-culture internet spectrum, and it's borderline fascinating to see how invested people are in making sure you know that they have good taste.
