The 2014 NBA Playoffs. Mirror's Edge 2. New Kanye, Migos, RHQ, and Young Thug.

Because, on a show with literally dozens of complex fleshed-out characters, every single newspaper is a shallow caricature? Because David Simon went from honestly examining Baltimore's different social systems to taking shots at his ex-employer? Because of the serial killer storyline?

Exact same situation, exact same list. Actually no, flip White Bear and BRB.

Fair enough. I'll just always believe that the 2 games Kaep wins you every year are more valuable than the 2 he loses, and better than Smith's inability to win you anything at all. Harbaugh clearly thought the same.

How 'bout those Sixers, huh? Oh, you've been choosing to spend your limited time on this planet watching actual NBA talents play meaningful games? Huh. Ok.

I cannot wait to shirk all my worldly responsibilities and watch the Western Conference playoffs in April. Assuming everybody stays mostly healthy (knock on wood until fingers bleed), that first round is going to be unbelievable.

You're giving Alex Smith way too much credit here. I'm higher on Kaepernick than most people and think what's happened to him this year is just a symptom of a larger organizational clusterfuck, but even if I'm wrong I'll still take him over Smith every day. You realize he hasn't thrown a single TD to a wideout in

To me, Channel Orange always seemed a lot more accessible than Trilogy, which is just punishingly brutal to listen to in one go. Listening to it after D'Angelo makes it obvious it's a lot closer to "pop" than whatever D'Angelo's doing.

I felt the same way. Liked the tone and overall feel of the work and felt that Doc was a decent 1970s Marlowe, but it just kinda drifted, especially in the final third. Thinking back on it a month later, nothing's really sticking with me. Only thing I felt it really nailed was the solitude and self-loathing at the end

Key & Peele's "the best sketch comedy series since Mr. Show," AV Club? That's a hell of a way to find out I've been transported to a multiverse where Dave Chappelle was killed by a stray arrow during the making of Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

No bullshit, No Label II was the best release of 2014.

What about the clean, enormous, beautifully furnished apartment with a monthly rent affordable on a 25 year old's salary, as seen in Every TV Show Set in NYC Ever? I want someone to compile a supercut of the places, because they're always such immersion breakers. Even a more "authentic" show like Broad City does this;

No worries. Hey, If I pretend like I understood that, will you buy me and my friends some beer from the liquor store? We got a twenty, so we're looking for something good, like maybe a Bud Light? You can keep the change.

You tryna tell me his name's not Gordon Z. Abernathy?

Fred Savage's little brother? Whaaa? Even after googling I have no idea what you're talking about, so… yeah. I didn't choose '92 because that's the earliest I remember, I chose it because I really haven't listened to much rap beyond then.

This, as well as the recent awful Eminem release, has me thinking: there's a conversation to be had about how rappers just cannot age gracefully. Seriously, the list of people who've continued making good (not even commercially relevant, just good) albums past their mid-to-late 30s can fit on a post-it. I don't know

It's not quite as sad as a photo of a balding-but-in-denial Coolio, but it's getting there. I mean, Cappadonna looks like a reject from a C-level 90's R&B group and I'm pretty sure GZA dropped by after picking up some groceries and is just trying to get this over with as fast as possible so the yogurt in the car

Love this band so much. I'll echo everyone else who's complaining about the lack of And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out; it was the album that got me hooked and still remains my favorite.

I'm young enough that the Star Wars films hold zero emotional significance for me (saw the original for the first time last year and thought it was decent) and this captures my reaction perfectly.

NBA Basketball on Christmas Day is always a good time.
