If you aren’t from the US, then I understand why you think it is possible to reduce waste/admin. However, nothing the US government is involved in reduces waste or admin. Hospitals already have lots of staff just to deal with the 50% of the patients already on medicare. Just look at the VA hospitals. They are a

I guess the question is why weren’t they competitive? Was it because unionized factories make a substandard product which as not nearly as reliable as the non-union plants produced, even though the parts are shared across much of the industry? It costs up to $2,000/car more to produce a car in a union plant? Union

You might have a point, if the UAW wasn’t pushing for GM employees to make twice as much as others in the same sector, with healthcare costs 10% of what others pay. Also, if the organization calling for the strike wasn’t GM’s single biggest shareholder, who is currently in a corruption probe and has the support of

It is amazing how people don’t seem to understand doubling the national budget of the biggest national budget in the world can’t just happen by passing a law. Medicare for all in the US would cost more than China’s national budget (with China having the second biggest budget in the world and a socialist country that

Was it a pressure washer or a steam cleaner? I have seen upholstery cleaned with a steam cleaner that looked like a pressure washer. It did not leave much residual moisture.

I am glad your neighborhood is doing so well, but I can’t afford that. I wish I could have a truck for some things and an electric car for everything else, but I don’t have the money or space. Most people I know don’t have that kind of option either. I do know some that have a newer truck for towing and an older truck

So they stopped making CARB compliant modifications to existing vehicles? That was a lot of words that did not answer the question. I’m not arguing that this is a transparently bogus claim, I was trying to point out it is not unheard of to modify cars for California, and genuinely curious if they stopped doing the

I’m not disagreeing with the ridiculous nature of the complaint. I just wanted to point out that it is not unheard of to make modifications to vehicles just for CARB.

Did I miss something? When did they stop making CARB compliant and non-compliant vehicles? I mean California is going to stop registering commercial trucks built before 2011 next year. Apparently they have been making non-compliant vehicles till relatively recently.

It is almost as if some people can’t afford to have multiple vehicles for different purposes. Like someone who can’t afford to have a truck for work and a car for going to the mall.

I was on a recent half-empty flight and they asked a bunch of people in the back to move forward to balance the plane. No one complained. I was stuck next to a couple dressed like they dumpster dived for a living and were making out the whole time. I jumped up as soon as they said we could move.

Boston is a unique environment. All of the schools, public, private, college or university, start on Sept. 1st. The landlords force everyone into a one year lease, Sept 1st-July 31st, using city approved forms. This forces everyone to move out/move in on the same couple of days. You may even have to spend a night in

Move in day in Boston is the worst. It is like the video above, but with 15 Uhauls on every street. The dumpster diving on that weekend kinda makes up for it though.

A Democrat trying to win by promising to give out free money is about as stereotypical as you can get.

I knew MacGyver was filmed in Canada, but he seems to have put on some weight. Either way, I’m sure he’ll figure it out.

Wait, I thought you could drive whatever you wanted at the north pole Santa? The US doesn’t have jurisdiction there.

I had a car shipped once, not really by choice. It broke down out of state and the dealer shipped it to a dealer close to my house (still under warranty so no charge). The car must have had over a hundred divots in the paint on the hood when it arrived, but since it went to the dealer, they signed off on it. It looked

I thought this was going to be an article about how the mob had control of all of NYCs trash services for a while and used it to extort huge fees from the residents, until the state set up their own competition service. I thought there was some secret underground trash truck fighting that came about as a result. I

So the place that manages the licensing of people and automobiles for money, the place that fines people for small infractions for money, the place that will hold your car hostage for money will sell your info for money? I want to be upset, but I so unsurprised that I have trouble getting upset. States make big money

In medicine, doctors figured out some percentage of the population can’t read beyond an 8th grade level. This lead them to dumb down the information they gave to patients to be at an 8th grade level.
