I wonder if it has to do with Michigan’s new anti bullying laws. They may require the school to report stuff to the police.

In some states, being a bully is a criminal offense and the schools are required to report it to police. Michigan has recently adopted a number of anti bullying laws. I wonder if that is what escalated this situation.

Except, that article doesn’t seem to go into the biggest reason these taxes have not worked in other countries, rich people just move out of the country. When 80% of our tax income comes from the top 10%, it can cause issues if they leave in bulk.
