Obama always played to government waste card when they asked him how he would make the budget work. He would say by cutting waste, like everyone knew it was there and easy to cut, but no one touched it.

I understand your point, but it is hard to look at a road widening that is supposed to take 3 months and ends up taking 3 years + 4x the budget and not say, ‘that seems wasteful’.

They could also just stop using gas taxes and tolls to pay for public transportation, since the ridership doesn’t overlap. But no! No one would take public transportation if they had to pay what it actually costs. Besides, we all know only rich people drive cars.
