That is ideal... but, in the mean time, taxing the ultra-wealthy (and/or nationalizing some areas of industry) and paying the masses to just stay home is pretty much the only thing that would need to happen to maintain the status quo.

This already works pretty well in countries with large amounts of material wealth

The wealthy, of course.

The whole concept of capitalism is fundamentally incompatible with an automated society. So it’s not just a UBI discussion that needs to be had. It goes a whole lot further than that. It’s the entire global economy that needs a rethink and rewrite.

Yup. Lea Seydoux is playing Margot Fenring but I can’t find any announcement about Hasimir at all.  If the Lady is in it, her husband probably is too.

“A killer with the manners of a rabbit” Yeah, that fits.

I don’t usually comment here, but wanted to support this 100%. TBN has this devious, weasel-y quality that would be perfect for Fenring. Could be a flasback, but I see Villeneuve using this to flesh out some Harkonnen scenes. Particularly the one with Feyd-Rautha's gladiator fight.

The Obvious answer is Count Fenrig, and that is the educated geeks guess, but it could really be anything, it could be someone in the court, but if its a named character, the money is on Count Fenrig.

Over/under on Discovery cancelling it before debuting?

“Neil Druckmann once pitched The Last of Us’ premise to George Romero (Night of the Living Dead) as part of a college assignment in 2004; the acclaimed director “didn’t like it,” and chose another student’s idea instead”

Its more that all of the pieces of the story are compelling. The thing that elevates Naughty Dog for me is the character building. In a lot of games, you may get a quick backstory on the playable character and then off you go on the adventure where gameplay is front and center. Every once in awhile you get a cut scene

I dunno’, I’ve never played The Last of Us (mainly because I’ve never owned a PlayStation), but the thing I have consistently heard since its release is how great the story is. “The gameplay? Who cares; the story is fucking amazing” is the general sentiment that I’ve taken away from the discourse surrounding the first

The already is a Jewish Elvis. His name is Neil Diamond.

Gunn absolutely has that earnestness. If you don’t think so, I dunno what the hell you’ve been watching, but it sure isn’t Guardians of the Galaxy or Peacemaker.

WALKING

WW84 was average as fuck and such a disappointment.

So it was Walter White all along.  Now the blue cat people make sense.

Man, I remember when I started reading the AV Club back when they were The Onion AV Club, and the movie reviews were all so negative I honestly thought it was also parody

It’s weird that people on here moan about the death of the auteur while simultaneously complaining that James Cameron has made a movie that’s really personal to him and his vision.

I remember when the A-grade around here used to mean something! Which is to say, we never saw one.

Oh, I thought it was called ‘The Way of the Walter’, and I’m all like “who’s Walter!?”
