I think that was an effect of inflation, but ultimately, I guess it leads to the same thing? Whether people have too much or too little money, money stops being useful.
Pretty sure I had millions of gold on D2 back in the day, and the only thing you really had to spend it on were repairs.
Boy it sure sounds like a stretch to characterize the takeaway of this article as “pro-cpitalism” when there’s such descriptors used as “the economy is busted” and “This phenomenon presents a potential disaster”.
This feels like a weird take on this when a lot of the problems of “capitalism” don’t really manifest in MMOs and the system works pretty well in a lot of them?
Why anyone would want to implement taxes in a video game is beyond me.
A monetary system is not the same thing as capitalism.
Please be courteous while you simulate a literal war for territorial dominance.
Should have been a full blown character. Did no one tell Sakurai that he now has a sword?
All I can say is good luck. My co-workers and I had a game running for a long time (years) but eventually let it go since we had unlocked everything and the only thing that was left was for the numbers to go up even more. If you really want to quit playing, just cheat. Then there won’t be a point to it anymore and…
zack why don’t you like fun
Ha I dunno they kind of make me chuckle.
What bit of bigotry? Show me the video of Pratt being a bigot. I’m deeply worried by this trend of wanting people you don’t like to be bigots so you can feel morally justified in your arbitrary hate, and that’s exactly what this looks like.
Super Mario Bros wasn’t an arcade game.
This is a gratuitously bad take.
For Mario Party, there were minigames where you had to rotate the controller rapidly. For greatest speed, many people used their palms instead of their thumbs. (For some minigames, it was basically mandatory.)
I do not understand how someone could get physical pain playing an N64 controller. Like, maybe if their hands were too big and rubbed up against the side prongs, but otherwise I dunno. Did you try and grab the analog stick while gripping the left prong? If so, why? There’s no trigger button on the left prong, only the…
Did ANY games make use of the far left D-pad? I never held that side; always gripping the middle and right instead.
Was hoping for Wave Race 64
Holy shit, the crazy bastards actually did it.
