Same. I got sober in July 2020. My drinking was heavy before the pandemic, for sure, but went into overdrive when the world shut down. I have also been doing 12 step meetings and stepwork, and have found them really helpful for coping with just life in general (in addition to keeping me sober).

Last year my best friend was assaulted in her home by a boyfriend she hadn’t known that long, and the cops came and dragged him off - she had to go to court, get a restraining order, etc. I really struggled at first with her decision not to go to court to testify - she was afraid he’d come back to her house and hurt

Yup. Even though she apparently did go to the police, she engaged in this “honey trap” for “several years” - putting her own kids at risk. And it didn’t amount to much. My own mom did this - a completely different scenario, but tried this same tactic to catch a predator. She still to this day completely rejects that

In New England we’ve been saying “fuck Walgreens” for a while for lots of other reasons, because they suck. Vermont is even pressing charges and trying to ban them from dispensing medication anywhere in the state after they’ve repeatedly dispensed the wrong medications or the wrong dose. https://vtdigger.org/2022/06/30

Hoda probably did what every other parent in the country did last week — school vacation week — and took her kids to the beach or skiing. Tell me you don’t have kids without telling me you don’t have kids. Not everyone posts every move they make on their social media, btw.

Right? I don’t know what’s more wild - that this stupid feud exists over gross Justin Bieber, that there’s enough fodder to write an entire story about it, or that I read the whole thing hahaa. Halp.

I gotta believe that this monologue was off the cuff - it really didn’t seem all that rehearsed, and though parts of it were produced I think Woody did a bait and switch. SNL lost Hall Willner, a longtime music producer, to Covid, and Michael Che publicly lost his grandmother. At the very least I’d think writers would

I’m glad someone commented as such. My family are die hard thrifters and we always scout out the stores in the rich towns because they have the nicest stuff, and rich people literally throw anything away. Hell, some of the best things I’ve gotten were free at the free room at the dump in a ritzy town I lived in for a

Yep. This. I have an Etsy store that is totally a hobby (barely makes money) where I list things that I’ve found for free, often on the side of the road. It’s my one rule that it has to be free or a trade. I clean it up and market it and make a few dollars here and there.

This all day. I and several of my friends are thrifters and volunteer at thrift stores/charities. There is always, always way too much and they end up having to pay to throw so much away - which is a fast fashion and American consumer problem. It’s not like reselling food from a food bank - clothing is nonperishable

I’ve heard this too, and I heard it in my early 30s when I started aggressively using retinol and sunscreen, so I just started squeezing a little extra out of the tube and rubbing the excess after applying it to my face to the tops of my hands. Don’t forget your neck and upper boob area!

I’m loathe to defend Meghan McCain, but to everyone saying that nobody is pressuring her - I have a handful of acquaintances who are rich white republican ladies and they are ALL about Ozempic. About a year ago I was over at one of their houses (the one who I’m actually friends with) and sitting in the kitchen

Shit, beat me to it. I was gonna say I’d rather see this article as a slideshow a-la New York magazine hahahah

This is the extremely niche comment we all needed :-D

It’s giving major Harry and Meghan vibes - like, “all anyone wants to talk about is my weight and body” as she puts out endless PR about her weight and body.

This. And I’m not a zombie show kind of person. I sobbed over Bill and Frank and anyone who didn’t have feelings after watching that episode is dead inside.

She’s actually 19 playing 14, but still - at 19 they’re light years ahead of where I was at that age as well.

Leave it to men to come up with a way to make consent nonconsensual.

I’m not particularly invested in Ben and Jen, but as a Bostonian I will say that this face is every Bostonian’s regular resting face. We’re a crabby people. Points to the person who posted him grinning at his guest appearance at Dunks - we do like our iced coffee, but we can’t be walking around smiling all the time,

Jezebel’s fascination with age-gap relationships aside, as a woman in her 40s I’ve had multiple conversations with women my age lately about being approached by really young men (in their 20s). Is this a Gen Z man thing? Being into older women? Because in my generation (X) it absolutely was not and we are all very
