I don’t think the announcers were outraged at all, but certainly a lot of Internet commenters are. There’s plenty right here in this story’s comments if you scroll the pending comments.

I think the announcers were fine, and yes this is what they do when the game is a dud - also nobody’s above a little teasing. The girls clearly seemed to take it in stride :-)

Literally right before the camera centered on them there was an announcement for fans to take selfies and send them to the teams Twitter.

My niece took tons of selfies in high school and the beginning of college. She grew out of it and she’s a perfectly normal and lovely young woman.
