Ok, maybe.
Agreed. I like her kickboxing skills but I wish they'd use her for other things too. Although working mad bookkeeping skills into the group dynamic doesn't sound like fun TV atm. But if they start chasing Whispers in S2 (please let there be a S2) Nomi to find the data and Sun to track the payments could be a storyline.
I think, without spoilers, it's pretty clear by this point the characters are starting to stabilise and strengthen their bonds within the cluster. Not just in the sense of Will and Riley like each other, so do Kala and Wolfgang, but in the sense of they're starting to work out how to share, how to visit, how to help…
We know they can lend control of movements, fighting takes more than 'here's how you do it' and presumably that's why we see Sun replacing Capheus for example. So if Will takes control of Riley's body to put his number into her phone, similar idea but much smaller scale.
Sun and Riley do meet, Riley sits on the park bench, Sun in her prison cell. There's the inscription about the spiritual sun and so on. You might have forgotten it because the next scene is the orgy.
Sorry, you're applying pure logic here. She's been taught the Leda clones are the spawn of satan for all her life essentially. Lets say 14 years. She might accept they're OK intellectually but it's a lot of conditioning.
I agree about Kala's story. It really only works because it's clear she doesn't love him but in no way is there an obvious reason why. If he was less obviously perfect you'd be all over "dump him because of X" (however trivial it was) but there's just a little bit, even for a cynical old dyke like me, that says "maybe…
Evolution requires variation, not utility. Natural selection then applies a harsh metric of 'do you survive?' Riley may not have obviously useful skills but she's a pretty good survivor.
Possible. I think as well she looks a bit flat because Amanita is such a manic pixie character. Nomi seems more affected and emotional away from Nita, interacting with her mum, wondering if she's mad and so on but re-watching it, she doesn't seem to actually change that much if I concentrate just on Nomi, it's the…
I wanted to give it some leeway too because it was so hysterical and OTT. I've never seen anyone react like that (although I can imagine if I had to fit into Lito's trousers for work I might be more bothered by that aspect of it, and I can imagine various female actors in stupidly skin-tight costumes swearing if they…
I really liked her in the book too. I think the TV show script and the actor brings her to life wonderfully and she is perhaps a better role here but it's not by much if at all.
In the history of the time, the other cultures don't really matter. There is the English way, which is naturally superior, there used to be the Roman way until Rome was defeated by the barbarians and before Rome there was the Greek way. Anything else is inconsequential.
Less smiley and happy, but stylistically similar, agreed.
To cheat a little less - kill Sun's brother. Marry the head nurse, she's not necessarily evil. I guess that leaves me fucking Nomi's mum. Might get the cow out of the closet.
I was just creeped out by Nomi's mum and her whole insistence on calling her Michael.
I'm not an expert but to my ear she sounds like a Dubliner. I'm guessing they didn't work on Maria Doyle Kennedy's native accent.
Given Mrs S's accent you probably want to be looking at Irish names, not UK names. London is so not her home town, even if she spent time there as a young adult.
She's also had lifelong conditioning that they're spawn of satan. She's realising that they're probably ok, maybe, but she's not a seestra, she's got not special loyalty to them.
I don't know what US law is, but in the UK 2 doctors saying she's not sane and she can't make decisions about treatment until they sign her out. I suspect it's similar in the US. Metzger may or may not be evil, you'll have to wait and see. But his actions to date certainly suggest he's not entirely ethical. Finding a…
