The problem is essentially that some characters are more popular than others and have character models that are easier to make skins for.
Mercy is a very popular character and you can pretty much give her any skin, Thorbjørn for example is not as popular and is very hard to create skins for.

They really should be taken to court for this. Licenses expiring is a common thing in digital distribution. The solution is to pull the licensed content from the store, not user libraries. That’s been the standard practice for games, I don’t see why it should be any different for movies or TV shows.

Why compare this to a movie ticket instead of other games? $70 seems a lot when something like Baldur’s Gate 3 only costs $60, and easily lasts $100+.  Still, so long as it doesn’t include any GaaS elements a $70 price tag isn’t close to the worse thing.
