It’ll be an adults-only game and you’ll still have 11 year olds on the mic constantly while online

Torrenting can't be stealing if paying for it isn't owning.
They really should be taken to court for this. Licenses expiring is a common thing in digital distribution. The solution is to pull the licensed content from the store, not user libraries. That’s been the standard practice for games, I don’t see why it should be any different for movies or TV shows.
And this is such a tired rebuttal.
The influx of new purchasers alone is so much exponentially higher than it was in the 60-dollar era. Personally I wait a year or two, since FOMO has no power over me in my 40's. Then I snag a copy for a quarter the cost.
Exactly.
Now, if we want to discuss the quality of some of these games at that price point, that’s a different matter. Same goes for DLC, in-game stores, ect...
Why compare this to a movie ticket instead of other games? $70 seems a lot when something like Baldur’s Gate 3 only costs $60, and easily lasts $100+. Still, so long as it doesn’t include any GaaS elements a $70 price tag isn’t close to the worse thing.
“Your game’s boring? Well, try playing the exact same campaign except this time with a shotgun that does 25% more damage!”
“The astronauts weren’t bored when they went to the moon”
I’m not a streamer or influencer, and i found it boring not after playing all day for several weeks, but after less than 10 hours. And i’m not even a peripheral person to Bethesda games: I was a massive consumer of their stuff up to Oblivion.
You guys are getting to the point where it seems like deliberate ignorance of what’s happening.
I dont know why this is, but its definitely not what Nilus said. XSX/Series S doesnt work that way. PS5 and XSX are always right around the same when it comes to textures and resolutions
If you’re looking for more modernized version of HL, Black Mesa is great. It’ll probably go on sale for $5 or less during the holidays.
ok champ
While that is certainly unfortunate, at least three of the games mentioned are meant for an age group above that of the child. So you can cross those off the list of “marketed to children”. And ultimately this goes back to personal responsibility, which is at the heart of any addiction. Nobody put a gun to your head…
You know what would be the real power move Nintendo could do to really stick it to those pirates?
Make their entire back catalog available at a reasonable price.
That’s not a good thing, man.
If emulation is bad, please tell me the “good” way for me to play something like Kid Icarus Uprising.
This sort of design would be pretty bad for the couch console crowd. I guess they could go the Wii U direction and add a tablet to the controller, but hopefully Nintendo remembers how that went.
The DS came out almost 20 years ago.
