Yeah, I watched the first season, and just remember it being sad. They clearly just wanted to be terrible to her, and she kept coming back for more. It could have been that she knew this, and did it to be on tv, but even then, how fucking awful is that? It’s better with RH when everyone is equally terrible, or at

Ideally, you treat your kids at least as well as a total stranger. But our culture is set up so you’re expected to make accommodations for parents, even in the face of behavior that’s way worse, and even illegal when coming from a stranger. It’s so weird.

    Shyster is absolutely a slur.

Nope. Your first x never equals your second x, and you’d have to raise wages by a lot to get the kind of price increase that would lower overall demand. It would sink a business or two, but overall businesses would find a way to supply food service, because there’s still a profit to be made. Even if the

    John Boehner’s not a man . . .

No one’s saying she built it from nothing, and I don’t see why it’s so important that success stories should always start with ‘I has nothing, I was living out of my car.’ Celebrities bigger than her launch clothing/makeup/shoe lines and don’t see this kind of success.

Like it or not, Kylie’s brand is also a result of “conceptualization and execution.” Every makeup line is. Also, surely if you could just “throw” a few million (I’m sure Tom Ford was created with zero capital, lol) together to generate $420 million in sales, more people would do that, right?

I DONT CUR ABOUT THEM!!!111!!0 THEY NEED TO GET JOBS!!!1!!!!

You have no idea how much of a role she has in the brand, though. You’ve just decided she has no role in the brand’s success, which is honestly kind of strange. Why so invested in that?

Yes, exactly. I’m also not a fan, but how can you not admire their game? It’s flawless. I’m no expert, but the makeup market seems totally saturated right now. For her to just bust onto the scene and make that much money right away is crazy.

Yeah, totally agree. The Kardashians/Jenners might not be good people, but clearly they’re good at *something.* Creating a cosmetics brand that’s this profitable isn’t easy. Isn’t easy if you’re a celebrity, or a mega fashion house like Tom Ford, or already have loads of similar capital. The idea that the Kardashians

Why depressing? She made a product people (inexplicably) love, and is making stupid amounts of money. Takes nothing away from you.

Here’s how I see it: If you feel the minimum wage is too low, tipping is a direct cash transfer that can immediately raise someone’s pay. When I did counter work, the extra 10-20 dollars in my pocket at the end of the day made a huge difference.

That was crazy and rude on her part, so she definitely didn’t deserve your money. In general though, everyone should tip baristas and counter people. I did a lot of this type of work when I was younger — they work very hard, for basically minimum wage, and tips mean a lot. There’s a lot of running around and back of

I mean, assuming that the ‘NBC’ in this case is the local network affiliate, this is local television news, which has long been a joke medium with no real standards. It surprises me not at all that they just took the couple’s side, without concern for what was really going on, or the long-term ramifications of the

Why is that an unreasonable question? I wouldn’t sign a lease if there was no provision for breaking it. The lease I just signed has a $3600 buyout if you choose to leave early. Other leases allow another person to take it over. Most people intend to stay the entire length of their lease, but shit happens. It seems

This is a pretty nasty comment.

Yeah, this. I’m getting married in October, and initially wanted no bridal party, but that lasted about five minutes in the face of mass disapproval from family. The only silver lining in the whole planning process is that my friends and I get a weekend away, to just hang out and be free. Not worried about “why” we’re

Wait, so you’re complaining that your boss makes more than you? Do you wish that the pay inequity was so great that you make more than not just your female coworkers, but your actual *boss*?

Mackenzie . . . bought an apartment near Central Park in the spring — ok, let me cut you off right there. If you own property near Central Park, you don’t get to complain about anything. Nothing.
