Housing projects have always been a good idea. Neglect of projects by the federal government that built them (and promised to keep them up) + white flight from city centers taking a huge chunk of capital with it + deindustrialization can create a pretty bad situation, though. Maybe that’s what you meant?

This is nothing new. Also, ‘genocide’ isn’t the right word for this.

How is a basic income not ‘support?’ Also, how could single parents live on $20,000, if this included all living expenses, plus health care, day care, etc? Lots of people would still be struggling to meet basic expenses.

Cool take. Now die in a fire. (Or at least stop trolling a thread on an incredibly important and real topic. Have your mom, whose basement you live in, make you a sandwich. Jerk off to a Trump speech. Do whatever you trolls do to unwind).

Yeah. If only there were ten features a week on ‘the white working class and how they think,’ in every major news outlet, we could better understand this elusive demographic. And there wouldn’t be a need for this incredibly sensationalized, exploitative ‘documentary’ (lol) series on the KKK. Oh wait . . .

It really is. I went there when I was 21, not expecting much, and had an incredibly good time. It’s not just the museums and monuments -- the nightlife and neighborhoods were wonderful. Even the mass transit is great.

Yeah, absolutely. It’s the last (possibly only?) war where the U.S was in it at least partially for achievable moral reasons, and not just Imperialist funsies.

Sorry, I meant that as rhetorical, and did not mean to jump down your throat about this. I’m sure your family foundation is totally above-board, and does wonderful work.

Does your family also solicit donations to this foundation? Typically ‘x family foundations’ are a way for families with considerable resources to best manage their charitable contributions. All the money comes from the family.

It’s true. You know that if the U.S. goes fascist, the first thing we’ll do is annex Canada (even if we don’t call it that). I don’t know why people who are scared of Trump want to move to Canada. That’ll work, sure, for like five minutes. I feel really bad for y’all, because at least I got a vote. You guys had no

There’s nothing like that paint thinner high, is there? Please, keep going with that, I hear there are no downsides.

Or just run the old Roseanne all over again, in the Primetime slots. If I had cable, I’d totally watch that.

Gosh, I hope you tipped her well. I agree with Marc Maron in that I’d rather have lunch with a reasonable Christian than spend any amount of time with a smug atheist.

Entertained, inspired — same thing. I’m an adult, so I vote for the candidate with the platform that most aligns with my values, and that I think can actually get stuff done. I figured out that while she’s not coming to my birthday party, she may have a clue on how to raise the minimum wage and appoint some liberal

The musical part was so great! I expected it to fade out like a minute into the first song, but like a miracle, it kept going for several more songs.

Yep, this. Rory’s behavior totally makes sense for a 22-year-old. Or at least a 22-year-0ld without a degree from an elite university and a network of well-connected friends and family like Rory has. Also with the boyfriend she keeps forgetting to break up with: very true/appropriate for 22. For a 32-year-old, it’s

Oh, Lord. Keeping your kid’s cognitive difference a secret is some seriously retro shit. Especially one as well-known in the mainstream as autism. He’s a scary dude, for so many reasons.

Kind of tangential, but you know any group named ‘The Thomas More Society’ are going to be the most useless bunch of cunts imaginable. Yikes.

Yeah, and so many of these third-partiers only want to talk about what ‘they’ (us Democrats) are doing wrong. It’s so awful. The DNC delivered two excellent candidates in the primary, and the better one for the job won.

Yeah, turns out, white Americans really love their unapologetic racists. If only there was some kind of book with all of America’s history recorded in it, he could have read that, and would have known this.
