Clinton's own state campaigns were trying to get her to visit the Great Lakes region before that happened. She wouldn't. They insisted her polling was wrong, that Trump was ahead, and she didn't listen.

She wasn't nearly the candidate Obama was, and that has nothing to do with race or gender. Obama knew which buttons to push and how to push them. To a lesser extent, so did Trump. He didn't need to be as good as Obama because Clinton ran an incompetent campaign.
If you could win on competence alone, then making the trains run on time would be more important than policy direction. I mean, Putin is notably competent. And yet he sucks.
Part of it is to prevent any one region from dominating the others. Obviously there's good and bad to that.
I don't think we'll see much of that.
Must be nice to have absolute authority over your work. Most of us live in a very different world.
He didn't pretend to be from there, he just campaigned there. Might have been a good idea for Clinton to try that. Alas.
I know some who are republican solely because of abortion. Does evangelical apply only to protestants? That's my understanding too, but I'm not sure and I don't see much difference. Maybe we need a new word for "way too serious about church."
Good. Judging from these boards, there's definitely some misunderstanding afoot. Different people had different reasons for voting as they did. There aren't any easy answers. We have 3 years to figure out how to win nationally, one year to get ready for midterms.
Not likely, I'm afraid. I expect further marginalization but that will only feed into the remainder's persecution complex. Technically, they're not wrong about people hating them.
Evangelicals come in many colors and they all tend to vote the same way. It's their primary allegiance.
Language is a generality as well. And there is some crossover between language and race, wouldn't you say? You're looking for shortcuts. There aren't any.
It does. Your point seems comparatively one-sided.
Your enemy isn't everyone who looks or sounds a certain way. Acting like that gives you more enemies, not less.
Yes, using generalities to judge complete strangers is racist. That's what racist means.
Not many people know this, but the midwest invented Chicago.
Maybe the past participle goes back to "cum." That's how "come" works. I come now, I came earlier, I've come before.
My only experience with it is the 1984 movie, and "too big for a movie" sounds about right. Yes I did try drugs. Helped a little, but I still felt 2 steps behind.
Can we just leave her here in 2016? I mean she would still be around in 2017, just not as a media figure we hear things about.
Twice for Obama and all we got was more insults. No, the anti-Ohio memes need to stop. That's all there is to it.
